Actually I suspect it was Jay the rowdy lot wanted to win and not Alex, lovely lass though she is.
As for the booing, well for almost the entire nine weeks audiences have been fed a certain line about Aaron from Big Brother in the edit, on BBOTS and OK!TV that has built him up as an übervillain* out of all proportion to his actual (and very minor) 'crimes', so I am entirely unsurprised that tonight they, Channel 5 and Endemol, have reaped the whirlwind of their heavy-handed meddling, and ended up with a final show that is full of unseemly and irrational audience 'hatred' and leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

“Why on earth did they not bring Faye on though? Very bad organization.
Now we'll have to wait for BBBOTS to see any interaction between them.”
Much as it would have been sweet to see them reunited like that, they never do such things on the final night, when returning HMs are always corralled in the VIP Spectator area.
You can be pretty sure that right about now though they're hugging each other with delight
* ironic that, even in the producer-assigned rôle of
House Villain, without ever doing anything particularly 'villainous', Aaron effortlessly outclasses pantomime 'bad guy' Anton once again, LOL!
