i think its to do with the fact the video hasnt been shot yet, but if its being performed on thursday, then they must have choreographed it already!

I do wonder what half of these record labels are doing with their acts...every month there seems to be another artist having their record delayed, being forced to release covers or even worse just being ignored and allowed to fade out of the limelight.

there is barely any new commercial music out at the moment, and any new song from a big name artist would get on the radio playlists by default, so I can't understand why they aren't getting Alexandra's single out now (the album could be released later in the year after a 2nd single if they wanted to launch in a better sales period)

I'm wondering if RCA are attempting a chart battle with Leona. Won't their new singles be released very close now?

I cant believe it has been pushed BACK yet again! Now would be the perfect period to release it! get some buzz then release the album after a 2nd single! But I agree are they trying to pit Alex up against Leona?!?!?!

they are both ultimately releasing music via sony, so what the agenda is there is anyone's guess. who knows, maybe leona`s music could get pushed back next.

apparently the radio edit is about to be given to radio this week, two months ahead of release.

RCA of late are a total WTF! But it may do a Domino thing I have been hearing that on the radio since late november and now is gaining momentum.

The single release has been pushed back for a number of reasons. For more lucrative promotional opportunities (the Brits, DOI, BGT), for longer video circulation and for longer airplay on radio before release. And for more time to generate interest and hype.

It's a sensible decision, but I wouldn't be surprised if they moved it forward a week to the 4th.

Let's get real. Syco know there no chance in hell that Leona could beat Alexandra in a singles chart battle, so it simply won't happen.

yes but that is the problem with Jessie J's song it IS available through the Platinum edition of Who You Are even though the single isn't due out until the end of february, so people will be downloading now so when the single comes out on Feb 27th it most probably would have peeked. With Alexandra's this could work in her favour with it not being out until March 11th and could very well go straight to number 1 if the buzz is like Domino.

I wonder if David Burke knows something is in the works, or if he's just speculating. It'd be amazing if Alex could land a BRITS performance slot. That pretty much started the Adele juggernaut last year.

Yeah because alexandra has had so much success! Leona has sold more records than alexandra so lets not make this into a fight between them.

yeah because of one song and simon cowells marketing. other than that and a great voice - nothin. alex apparently has about half the money that leona has, due to her versatility (modelling etc) lets NOT go there. it will be bloody.

Who cares about how much money Alexandra has made, this is about music. Plus Leona has been asked to do other things, but has turned it down because of her beliefs and mainly because she doesnt seem interested in this celebrity world. All Leona seems to care about his her music and charity work.

Leona turned down £1million to open a Harrod's sale because they still sell fur.

Leona had a phenomenal first era with Spirit. We all know that.

But you can't live in the past forever. While Alexandra has yet to match Leona's first era success, since Alexandra has been on the scene, she performed better than Leona on all counts. Alexandra's first album sold better than Leona's second. And her singles have performed better.

Alex is the more "current" artist. That's just assessing things realistically. Leona has struggled far more to make a meaninful impact on the singles chart in the past two years than Alex. Right now in the UK, Alex is the bigger star. Her lead single would be expected to chart better than Leona's next single (whatever that may be), if they released simultaneously.

but its a money making industry, so its very important. for a Uk only artist alex has done very well. her second album and her international ambitions are the test. its too soon to judge, once both girls have had the same exposure, then we can judge; and if alex doesnt go to the US, I'll eat 'umble pie
Leona could and deserved to be massive as does/did alex but syco with their messed up workings have ruined both first eras for the girls (leona: no US release of forgive me and run, and outta my head/big uptempo to launch the Echo era - alex - no big US push, although 1D and cher are being wheeled out there like the next big thing )

i just hope the labels treat the girls right. ATM katy perry and rihanna have had bigger success and better material than alex and leona for the most part, singles wise - and there's no excuse as both girls have worked with similar people as katy and rihanna. seriously, our 2 best vocalists (the best uk mezzo and contralto IMO) arent being treated right. their labels should be damn grateful theyve got their pipes/talents on their books. SMH at the music industry at times.

based on what? her last top twenty single, her exposure on the x factor or her watch range with argos. i like alex, but lets be realistic.
