If they had provided the LF and a decent show the ratings would not be anywhere near this bad

It would have got easly 2 million for the regular series or above every night except saturday and the CBB version would have got 3 million per night

But they CHOSE to ignore the fans

Well said even though PEJ was arrogant sometimes atleast he came on here even if it was to talk down to us most of the time

The problem with Richard Desmond (well, one of many ) as that he thought he was buying gold when he invested in BB. Ready made bars that would guarantee him a nice ad pay day, 2m+ viewers every night, maybe nudging 3m.

But what he bought was a gold mine. The gold is there but you've got to put in some work to get it out. You need to employ staff with expertise. You need to know where the richest seams lie. You must make sure you don't over-mine certain areas or they might cave in.

To get the best return on your investment, you have to use the miners who have been successfully delivering the goods for years. You'll want to expand your mine and bring in new workers too, but the people who have been there years are the ones that built up the company. If you don't treat them well, the whole enterprise will fail.

Unfortunately, Desmond doesn't seem willing or able to grasp this concept. He's sitting there with his half empty mine wondering why there isn't a big pile of gold bars in his vault.

You know the story about the goose who laid the golden eggs? Reminds me of that.

The Goose Who Laid the Golden Eggs

Once upon a time there lived an old woman who had a number of hens, ducks, and geese. She used to send her little daughter to the meadow every day to take care of the ducks and geese.

But she had one goose that she never allowed with the others. This one had a little house and yard of its own. It was such a wonderful goose that the old woman was afraid of losing it.

Each day this goose laid a large golden egg. The woman could hardly wait for the new day to come, she was so eager to get the golden egg.

At last she said to herself, "I will kill the goose and get the gold all at once."

But when she had killed the goose she found that it was just like all the other geese.

In her haste to become rich, she had become poor.

Moral: Greed destroys the source of good.

Going backwards rather than forward even from where we were 11 years ago

I remember the first series of BB when the the live feed was free and I use to watch BB whilst at school on my lunch break. I remember Mel getting out of bed and her being naked so the live feed wasn't censored.

Then we had to subscribe to Live feed and now we don't have it at all.

The internet had not been round long back then and it feels like we are actually going backwards rather than forwards. Anyone agree.

Sorry for another LF thread.

Yep, Jeff Ford talks about the show having "Moved on" but the truth is it has moved backwards. It was funny when they were boasting about being the first show to ever allow votes on facebook. Jeez, how innovative.

sounds about Right.
didnt Desmond try backing out of a deal with Murdochs daughter over the failed Talent show hosted by Emma Bunton?

Why did Endemol quit the meetings for all those months with the boss of Endemol not able to speak to Desmond after? If endemol could see the problems C5 taking over the show would cause they are just as Bad as Channel 5.

ford claims this show is moving on??? I think someone needs to tell him they moved on and left the viewers behind at the last stop.

Does anyone have that link to the US article that BBUS owed its success to live streaming? I think it was in Variety?!

They are missing a trick and its hard to understand why. Maybe it seems to much hassle - all the extra workers to run it ...?

Live 24/7 is what our world is about now - look at the news channels.

Less viewers, less votes and at only 7p a vote?

George Osborne should recruit him.

No, I think what they mean is that their version of BB is dead. The LF debate is very much alive and well away from C5-controlled areas of the democratic world
