I think I'm fairly typical as a BB fan - been watching it every year without fail since BB3, rarely miss an episode, have LF on in the background (either on tv on or the internet) and tend to talk with other friends online both in here and via Twitter about what's going on, which is free promotion for the series.

This year, I've stopped watching. Not through protest or annoyance over lack of LF, but just through apathy. I tried the first few days, and I don't feel I know any of these people. I don't know who is friends with whom, I don't know who is bugging whom. I don't know how long tasks are lasting or if they're enjoying them. I don't know if any of them are dealing well or badly with being cooped up. I don't understand the relationships we're being shown, how they started or how real they are. I literally have no idea. The cast are all too young and too similar in outlook. I never hear Big Brother speak to them. I see very little diary room footage. I have no idea of their attitude towards Big Brother.

I can't engage with the series at all, on any level, due to bad editing, music, montages, minimal footage and storylines that are all over the place.

Two ways to solve this: inject half a dozen older people and get rid of the same number of young ones, and restore live feed so we can actually understand the context of what we're seeing in the highlights.

As it stands, I just have no interest in the series as it currently exists. Looking at the ratings, I'd say many other people feel the same way.

This isn't rocket science. Endemol can create brilliant series of BB, but Ch 5 need to allow them to do the right things to make this happen: change the cast and restore live feed. If those two things don't happen, I'll be surprised if the series isn't cancelled before it reaches the final.

I think it is highly unlikely that Channel Five control the BB facebook page. Much more likely that Endemol are responsible for it.

Channel 5's own facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/channel5uk) is regularly updated but not with BB news.

Well CH5 have twice (I believe) made comments on THIS I see no reason for £ndemol having any input on this.

They block people for even mentioning the live feed. The vast majority who have been blocked or banned weren't endlessly spamming the C5 Farcebook page, despite the claims of some on here.

Anyone read Nasty Nick Bateman's recent blog about live feed etc?

http://bigbrotherveteran.blogspot.co...t-is-gong.html

He talks a lot of sense ,I wish he worked for BB.

Portugese live feed. Seven bloody camera choices! Makes you realise just what a sad little show ours is.

Imagine how well that would work with the networking sites.

Channel 5/Endemol are just so unimaginative and uninspired.

It's the same feed but from 7 different sources as far as I can see.

The hot bloke in red (Marco?) - wow!!!

(I've watched about 10 minutes & I'm hooked. That's 10 minutes more than I've watched of any UK BB this year!)

I've got it running in the background. Amazing - even without being able to understand a word, I'm still enjoying it. Brings home just how absolutely essential the live feed is. How on earth anyone could ever contemplate making a series of Big Brother without it frankly beggars belief.

Perhaps we should start a WHATM thread.

I can see the headline now, "UK BB fans snub Channel 5 to watch Portuguese Show instead"
