Big changes in America and Canada when it comes to beer!

Last time I went to the US 5 years ago, visits to bars where pretty depressing experiences, as the beer really was terrible ~(Bud, Coors etc). However after a recent visit things seem to have moved on massively there (at least on the east coast, where I visited), with loads of new locally made, good quality beers being old. I believe they call them craft beers, not real ale. Lots of bars were even making their own stuff. Meanwhile in the UK a lot of pubs still only seem to give you a choice of the likes of Fosters, Stella, Guinness and Magners! Definitely a bit of a roll reversal from a few years ago where the last thing you went to America for was the beer.

well over 10 years ago when I was around the east coast they had micro breweries which is the same as craft beer I believe.
But I remember some wicked hangovers from the bottled lagers they had

Had some of the best beer I've ever had last time I went to the U.S. Blue Moon was my favourite but there were loads of interesting beers if you looked beyond the big brands.
