HDR Housekeeper v3 Release
swedish cook
11-09-2011
Latest release of the Humax HDR Housekeeper that deletes old recordings based on the settings that you make, so for example you can have it delete Match of the day recordings after two weeks whether watched or not and delete watched Eastenders recordings if there are more than 2 copies. Protected files are not removed.

If you're interested please read the manual and if you like it, give it a go.

Download the manual (pdf)

Download zip of install uninstall packages

Changes in this release :
1. Settings are kept in a separate _HOUSEKEEPER directory rather than within the series recording directories, this means that empty directories will be removed by the HDR.
2. By request I've added a default option so you can tell the housekeeper to delete any recordings according to a global setting, e.g. delete any watched recordings after 2 weeks.

Although this is'nt an addon that will be useful for me, as I have a large hd drive in the HDR and I've never really had an issue with space. I'd just like to thank you on for going to effort of publishing the software ( with source code) and creating the read me.

No worries, a small number of guys find it useful - I wrote it for myself really (I was so sick of having to go through the clunky menu to delete Eastenders and Corro episodes).

And there wasn't really any solid info on how to really get started so I thought the source may be useful to others.

Personally I'd like to thank Raydon and the other pioneers in opening up the platform

Please note - Raydon has kindly offered to add the Housekeeper as a package in the impending media bundle 4 which introduces a web repository for loading packages.

Thanks Raydon.

Thanks for this, it's really great that so many useful add-on apps are becoming available for the HDR. This isn't something I'd use at the moment, but a useful feature to add for me would be the deletion of a series record from the recording schedule once the series has finished. I know they do self-delete, but only after a long time. I think the idea is it eventually picks up a new series, but very often the CRIDs are different, and it doesn't work anyway. It just ends up with the recording schedule cluttered with old stuff, needing to be cleared out manually. One of the benefits from when we had Sky+HD was the reservation was cleared after the last episode was aired. I don't know if that's feasible?

How would you define "once the series has finished". There is no indication of this in the EPG data..
My guess is that SKY+ simply hides unmatched past schedule entries. - freesat could do the same but them I am sure someone would want to see them..
