This happened with BGT a few years back, when there was a duo called Addicted who got buzzed out at the auditions because the judges thought they don't work together, but the judges offered one of them, Sue Son, a lifeline to audition on her own. She was unsure about leaving her friend but decided to do anyway, she came back on her own, got three yeses, and got through and to the semi-finals, but didn't make it to the final. I heard in the news that her friend ended their friendship, so that's disappointing.
