So based on the group performance who do you think will be good and who will be bad?

Thank God!!! I thought I was in a minority when I said to SWMBO that Russel looked surprisingly light on his twinkles

No, I agree as well. I think he could surprise a few people! At the very least he will give the Latin a good go.

Those who shone out in the group performance were Chelsee, Audley and bizarrely, Russell (who seems to have a fabulous sense of rhythm) Jason appeared to be good too but I'm not quite sure if it might have been an illusion, or even if not, he might do a bit of a Jimi Mistry and try too hard.

Nancy looked drunk, it was horrible, and Edwina is 65 full-stop.

For the men Robbie, Jason and surprisingly Russell were the best, with Harry and Rory doing pretty good, but from what I saw Dan and Audley's height will be an issue. Not good.”

Have to agree. Tall men generally don't dance too well and Audley is huge. I was surprised at how good Anita was. Not keen on Holly and didn't understand Nancy's reactions at all.
Think we will get a better understanding when it starts properly.

Nancy - not the best but seen worse
Jason - quite good actually but maybe not the best
Alex - 50/50 didnt see enough of her
Audley - looked the most awkward, my prediction for 1st out
Chelsee - 50/50 again didnt see enough of her to tell
Russell - obviously not the best but suprisingly better than i expected, will last a good few weeks
Robbie - couldnt tell, think hes either gonna be not half bad or totally terrible
Dan - not as good as i anticipated but he might be ok given 3 weeks of training
Anita - one of the better looking ones, suprised by her energy, this years Pamela?
Edwina - not the best but not the worst. Im really interested 2 see her progress
Harry - 50/50 again didnt see enough of him
Lulu - another 50/50 didnt see much of her but of the bits i saw she looked quite good
Holly - another one who seemed pretty good. This years Kara???
Rory - 50/50 too barely saw him but looked better than some of the other men

Ok my summary.

Nancy - too full of herself and thought she would be better. Not great sense of rhythm.

Edwina - Not great but not expecting much. She wasn't the worse by any sense though.

Lulu - Surprised at how wooden she looked - but maybe she had mega nerves especially after her partner match up bit. For a performer she didnt really play out to the crowd, she seemed to spend most of her time looking at the floor when she was front and centre.

Anita - Very surprised by how much rhythm she had. She over performed in parts (she will def be this year's greatest gurner - and probably a sprinkle of Pamela in there too) but overall she came across ok. Sort of had her down for an early exit, now Im not so sure.

Alex - most disappointed with her - she was very wooden and seemed to prance rather than dance (James is going to have his work cut out with her). I dont think she is going to be this year's One Show champion!

Holly - OK but was expecting more. She was far too tall for Artem though. Another skipper prancer than dancer. But maybe she was v nervous.

Chelsee - Brash, Chav - all the Craig like adjectives. She didnt do too badly though. She seemed to have a small sense of rhythm.

Rory - He didnt seem too bad (although he was early on his first cue and late on another), Erin might make a dancer of him yet. he with Anita and Audley were my bets for early exit, now Im not so sure.

Audley - For a big bloke, he did seem to have a little natural rhythm. He certainly wasnt the plank I was expecting him to be. I doubt he will be too good at Latin but Natalie might be able to make a ballroom boy of him.

Dan - Oh dear - Dad dancing at its very worst (actually Craig K was better). Dan I think is fated with the GMTV and Height Achilles heels. He didnt appear to have any natural groove/rhythm. Katya's got her work cut out in a big way - but then again she managed it with Phil and GavBot so anythings possible. I had him at the top ish but think he might be lucky to be a middler.

Russell - I didnt think I would ever say it but he did have some natural rhythm and I think he will have fun and bring his own brand of dancing to the show.

Jason - Jason was ok but looked a bit too stiff. Almost like he was trying too hard. (and in the training VT - when he spent all the time practicing, I presume this was because he had only 1 day/session to perfect it as he was back in SoM on Monday and Tuesday before the show day filming?). If he loosens up a bit and performs out then he will be good.

Harry - Didnt see much of him and he didnt seem to shine out. He looked a bit of a bag of nerves though. He wasnt the worst but not the best either.

Robbie - He seemed ok. I think I might start to like him. He seemed to have some natural rhythm although I thought in places he was trying too hard.

Not sure who came across was the best:
Jason (?), Robbie, Anita (?!) [Holly maybe]

Middlers:
Russell, Harry (?), Rory, Chelsee, Alex, Lulu

Worst:
Edwina, Nancy, Dan, Audley (but only as I cant see him being a middler).

The first elimination is so random that its got more to do with popularity than dancing so I can foresee Edwina, Nancy, Audley and perhaps Chelsee being in danger (unless they pull something out of the bag and make a real splash).

Why are you shocked? She had plenty of practice using Den as her chief punchbag on Eastenders!!!

Back to the group dance, I agree with a lot of the comments already made - particularly about Russell, Anita, "Dad" (I mean Dan!) and Edwina. Jason is always a "try-to-harder" - see him on IAC. Please don't let him be even more annoying than La Snowdonia

I must just say that some of the comments on Nancy (could hardly walk/barely stay upright/looked drunk) had me crying...with laughter!!!

Why is everyone so harsh on Audley his & Russell's little solo was the best of the night.

It's a bit hard to tell, but definitely the worst Edwina and Nancy.

Jason is just too worthy. Surprised by Lulu, she wasn't good at all. Found it hard to get past Anita's grin, but she really threw herself into this.

Not sure about Robbie, bit blokey, but some rythm there, hopefully Ola can sort him out.

Dan, didn't expect much from him and was proved right. Rory, a little lost at times. Chelsea, a tiny bit my little pony, and what has she done to herself, she looked so pretty in her VT. Holly might be good ditto Harry, didn't see too much of them to be honest. I've missed one - oh the one show girl Alex, not impressed so far.

Agreed! He also had a spotlight with Flavia where he did a spinning lift and then into a circular grapevine move. And having had a look at the screen shots by EmmaGx - he looks quite decent.

I dont think Audley was much of a front runner tbh but I didnt think he was awful, i just preferred a great deal of others

Does it say something about my mind that I first read the title as 'who will be good and who will end up in bed'

My opinions-

Edwina & Nancy were awful.

Dan was a dad at a wedding- thinks he's better than he is.

Lulu was like a mum at a wedding- thinks she's better than she is.

Holly & Harry looked good.

Jason could be good but was trying too hard.

Anita, Chelsee, Robbie & Russell showed a lot of enthusiasm and all had good moments... will probably be good with some training.

Audley had good rhythm, could be good with training and once he's lost a bit of self consciousness.

Rory was very stiff, possibly just too self conscious at this stage. Will wait to see what Erin coaxes out of him.

Alex I barely saw.

I think that Anita will do well.

Two left feet Edwina, Nancy, possibly Audley
Surprise package, (or Widdy - 2011?) Russell
Looked a bit awkward but may come good Alex, Lulu
Nice movers Anita, Holly, Jason, Chelsee - did a few steps that made her look a dancer
Didn’t see enough to judge Harry, Dan, Rory, Robbie

Looked quite good: Anita, Holly, Chelsee, Jason, Russell.
Awful: Nancy (out first me thinks) Edwina, though she did make an effort which i like.
Didn't see enough of: Harry, Robbie, Alex, Rory, Dan.

Did anyone else spot the Nancy/Jason clash as they were trying to get to their next position after the punching sequence? See it at 2:16 above.

Also, how out of time Brulu were on the final beat as opposed to Dobbin who were bang on?
