Here is a radio edit for one of the most anticipated Dubstep songs of 2011, for those who aren't too into Dubstep, this song has been on many fan's radar for a while now.

I'm a dubstep fan, but the bassline is annoying.I don't see this being a radio hit or introducing dubstep to the masses to begin with, because this is a very watered down version of dubstep music and it misrepresents it.If anything, artists like Nero and Skrillex are doing quite well in the charts both in the UK and Stateside, so if they get a bit more creative and come up with something brilliant and commercially viable then I can see dubstep breaking through.

Not a fan of it, most of it isn't even music.

But gotta say i am a big fan of what Nero did with Calvin Harris - Feel so Close.

It annoys me that radio DJs are so out of touch with what dubstep actually is.

I remember on Capital FM this presenter said 'Oh and heres Nicols Scherzingers new single 'Wet'..and i must say im loving the dubstep!'

When infact it has one MINOR influence to dubstep as the intro and the rest it is basically pop/electro.

And apparently Judas by Lady GaGa is dubstep too?! *grrr*

I wish radio presenters would educate themselves as to what dubstep actually is (e.g Caspa, Doctor P etc etc) and not claim that ANY song with some sort of heavy bassline is basically dubstep

100% agreed.Nicole's song has no dubstep influence in it.NOTHING!I cannot believe someone called any part of it "dubstep" .Also, 'Judas' is FAR from dubstep too, but I think that even GaGa thinks she actually did a dubsep breakdown ().It is a "playful" and "weird" bassline but that's not what dubstep is about.People even think that 'Freedom' has a dubsep breakdown.PLEASE!!The only artist to whom I am going to give props for capturing a dubstep influence properly (influence, not dubstep as a whole) is Britney. The breakdown in HIAM had a proper dubstep orientation and while there is no way that beat can be called dubstep it still had a respectable influence that is correct and accurate based on the definition of dubsep. The drum pattern was on point, the bassline was a VERY watered down dubstep influence, but still a good experimentation and the ryhthm was good too.

I'm a huge dubstep fan, it's pretty much the only genre I listen to along with Drum & Bass and Breakbeat.

I'm not a huge fan of that track though. I prefer things like Excision, Downlink, DatsiK, SKisM, Skrillex and Dodge & Fuski.

I agree with this. I'm not really a fan of Ms. Spears bar a few songs and Blackout, but her production is top-class. And she's really the only major artist doing it properly, even if (as you said) it's watered down.

As for the song up for discussion, I don't really like it. It's a bit grating after the first listen.

I am not into heavy dubstep
I like the small elements and influences it has been shown in Britney's Femne Fetale album and from Katy B.

Ever since I discovered dubstep, I find the compelling need to listen to it every day otherwise I have withdrawals.

Yeah britney is the ONLY artist doing it kinda right.. the whole femme fatale album has obvious dubstep patterns in it (HIAM/ Seal It With A Kiss mainly) watered down or not its at least on the right line!

We only said that Britney is the only mainstream pop artist that used her dubstep influences properly.Nobody said that she is a dubstep artist or that her music is dubstep.Chill!

Well, Rihanna did three songs with Chase N Status on Rated R aswell. Although I don't think she released any as proper singles.

probably gonna sound like a snob or old timer here but I only really like the old skool stuff, old hyperdub, tectonic plates, hot flush.
too much screechy mid range in a lot of stuff I hear these days.

True, I was just about to mention that. Britney is not the only artists doing the dubstep influence thing correctly. Listen to RIhanna song G4L. The whole beat is pure dubstep, just slower than usual. If anyone disagrees they should know it was produced by Chase and Status.

I disagree.I don't think G4L has a dubstep beat.Just because it has loud bass and a good drum pattern, it doesn't mean it's dubstep

Afraid I feel the same, all the stuff mentioned above, to me at least, isn't really dubstep. It's pop music with elements of dubstep.

But hey, all of the stuff mentioned above were not mentioned as dubstep music. These artists were mentioned as mainstream artists taking the wrong or the right dubstep influences.

I'm with you on that (as the links I posted demonstrate -- well, maybe not that first post ). I don't mind the filth end of dubstep too much but I adore the deeper stuff.
