I agree totally, we all make mistakes, everyones quick to say shes opinionated but yet everyone seems OK to pass judgement on Edwina. Im not claiming shes not done anything bad etc but nobodies perfect. So she had an affair? Its not a good thing no but its not uncommon and its hardly crime of the century. If we penalised everyone for every wrong doing in life we'd hate the whole world

Thanks Ash! My point exactly, everyone makes mistakes and thats a fact!

Yes, people have an affairs, it is a sad fact of life. But they don't all broadcast it to the world to make more money from sales of their "secret diary", without a care for how much they hurt or humiliate the innocent parties. There is a HUGE difference.

If she'd kept her mouth shut and it had leaked out that is one thing. But she made the conscious choice to kiss and tell to make money. If that it not immoral I don't know what is.

"They" didn't get her to do anything, she jumped the gun and chose to go to Artem without being instructed to do so. She might have thought that Artem would be her partner, but if she had stayed where she was and waited, she would not have looked so ridiculous.

Anyway, as a hard-nosed politician, I'm sure that there will be little lasting damage.

Our reaction was "Artem's really dodged a bullet there".

Other people choose to read the stories though, people are quick to complain when it suits. She had an affair. Im not saying its right but shes hardly villain of the year. How many people have affairs. Selling her story isnt a move id say done her many favours but theres more serious things in life going on that overshadow an affair. I cant understand why it should be that big of a deal. She done wrong but anyone who thinks they are absolutely perfect and squeaky clean are either naive or deluded. Ive never had an affair but I've made mistakes in my life which show im not perfect. We are all only human. You cant go on hating everyone for every wrong doing or we'd hate the entire nation. She had an affair once upon a time, it was wrong but it happened. Its no big deal

and excuse the pun but it takes 2 to Tango

as u say Jay, they are adults, both did wrong and im sure they know that and are paying the price.

Everyones gonna have their opinions, and i agree Edwina's not my favourite but im not gonna judge her based on her personal life. Even if she did sell the story, the shows about dance, and its only fair she gets the same shot as everyone else, She a human being, shes someones mum, ....................yeah she should have thought about that wen she had an affair but whats done is done, i wish her well with Vincent

Indeed, I watched the show this morning eagerly awaiting the humiliation of Edwina, it was a bit of a let down

Although I can't help thinking that her & Artem would actually have been quite a genius pairing simply because she would have completely baffled him.

I believe Edwina revealed details of her affair with Major after he published his own autobiography and failed to mention his ex mistress. Edwina was reputedly hurt and proved the truth of this quotation taken from The Mourning Bride (William Congreve.)

Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd,
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd.

Congreve was also the author of another oft used phrase appropriate to this discussion.
O fie miss, you must not kiss and tell.

From Love for Love.

Edwina's adultery with Major, was no worse than Major's adultery with Edwina - both cheated on their spouses - but it was Major's arrogance in thinking he could treat Edwina with disdain that was his undoing and for that he paid dearly.

Very good bigbro24

I thought the whole thing was a bit mean but I'm pretty sure she'll have got over it - as someone said she does have the hide of a rhinoceros

I didn't get the whole splitting up of the final 4 women at the end - they didn't do that with the men??
Seemed very badly thought out by the producers.

I once knew a farming family who had lived all their lives from the poultry industry. When Minister for Public Health, Edwina maintained that eggs were dangerous because they contained salmonella. Athough of course not ALL eggs from all farms were guilty, it completely put the public off eggs. My friend's farm went out of business and they lost their livelihood.

The relief on Artem's face was priceless.

Salmonella can kill...food poisoning and worse You can look at it in two ways, she wanted to help save people from the threat or you can look at it that she shut some businesses down etc.

I strongly disagree. He often speaks the truth where other judges will avoid saying something controversial, such as "You're feet were in the wrong place". I find his arch, camp humour a delight; he's very entertaining indeed. Rubbish cook, apparently....

i agree hes abrupt but civil. Jason Gardiner on dancing on ice is a venemous little queen that gets unecessarily spiteful and personal which is unprofessional and uncalled for. Craig is a bit of a Mr Nasty but hes nothing like that, his comments are valid 2 the show and not a spiteful dig at the contestants on a personal level. Thats why he gets more respect than Jason IMO

Given that Craig and Ann Widdecombe are working together again, this time in Panto in Dartford, they must get along reasonably well at least.

If she can get along with him, after some of his comments, I guess you've got to know how to take his criticisms too much to heart.
