*Ben remains apprehensive about last night's altercations. Mario tries to make him feel better
'don't worry about what happened last night. Today's a new day.. If we carry on exactly as normal everything will go back to normal.' Ben expresses how John has disappointed him. Mario
'he probably feels the sh--tiest person in the world. He’ll come to you when he's not feeling so guilty.' Ben thinks he should and appeals for Mario to
'Stick to me like glue today!!' (
Mario didn't need to be invited twice, he jumped at the chance to be in such close proximity to his crush)
Every day is a brand, spankin' new day with the slate wiped clean .. with the fresh opportunity to try and be a little better than yesterday. Forgiving and forgetting isn't always a piece of cake, is it? Sometimes the pie of anger and resentment holds more appeal but in the long run it doesn't fill you up .. but instead leaves you feeling hollow and empty with a pain in your gut. Carrying on as normal is often easier said than done too. I'm a person who struggles massively with this but kudos to those who can

John joins Ben, Mario, Dave and Sunshine in the bathroom and immediately shows remorse for his actions the previous evening -
JOHN: (Sincerely) I apologise for what I said last night.. I didn't mean to get you into sh-t!
BEN: You know I hold you in high regard.
JOHN: (Promises) I'll stick by ya.
The smallest word or action if misinterpreted or meant maliciously can indeed be taken the wrong way or get someone into the 'sh-t' But I'd rather have heartfelt honesty than insincerity to mask true feelings or for fear of rubbing someone up the wrong way (
even if the things said do cause unintentional upset). John's actions were not pre-meditated with the hope that anyone would turn on Ben .. he simply wanted Govan and Josie to know that HE wasn't speaking badly of them. The way things panned out the previous evening was an argument waiting to happen .. whether John had said anything or not – the fireworks would have been lit irrespectively.

Josie confides in some of the girlies (Shabby and Caoimhe) about her relationship with John -
JOSIE: I wanna be friends with John James again .. and I wanna trust him.. but he's lost a lot of my trust from yesterday!
Caoimhe tells Josie she thinks he has a really low self-esteem.
SHABBY: (Agrees wholeheartedly) But he tries not to show it.
JOSIE: (Had no idea that this was part of his character)You're joking?
They both inform her that they are absolutely not joking.
JOSIE: I just thought he was really sensitive. I feel really bad now! (
Sucks her thumb)
CAOIMHE: He has a nervous disposition.
JOSIE: Sometimes he gets all like..
CAOIMHE: (Completes her sentence) .. jittering!
JOSIE: Yeah. Awww! I feel really bad now.. I've been calling him a b-tch to everybody..
SHABBY: Well now you know..
JOSIE: (Sweetly) I'm gonna be extra nice
The trouble with trust is that when a measure is lost it is tremendously tough to re-build it again. John and Josie overcame all these hurdles with time while in BB because there weren't many other options .. and they felt their friendship was too important to lose. Outside the house, the options were endless .. they didn't have to resolve issues in their relationship (the way they felt necessary to in BB as they HAD to live with each other) because they could choose to walk away from the problems if they felt they were too great or too challenging to conquer. I'm sure they both would have had differing techniques to try to tackle any they faced as a couple .. who is to say which was the 'right' way or if they didn't fight hard enough?

Sunshine strikes up a subject to speak about with John in the garden.
SUNSHINE: I'll bet you'll be doing pant adverts when you leave. Would you do it?
JOHN: I guess er.. Yeah.. You take any opportunity don't you, really? I wouldn’t.. I certainly wouldn’t be expecting anything though. (
Josie walks out into the garden carrying a large pot of veggies and John is instantly distracted)
What's in there?
JOSIE: Spuds!
JOHN: (Bemused) What the f—k is a spud? (
Sunshine enlightens him that they are 'potatoes')
Potatoes? What do you call 'em?
JOSIE: Spuds!
JOSIE: (Declares) I've just worked you out, Becks (he laughs) I seriously have!
JOHN: Oh, have ya? Just now?!
JOSIE: (Laughs) Yeah!
JOHN: (Eager to know her thoughts) Oh really? Care to elaborate?
JOSIE: Not in front of everyone!
JOHN: Nah, give it a go.
JOSIE: No.
JOHN: Is it good or bad?
JOSIE: It's good but it's bad at the same time.
JOHN: (Bosses)Tell me.
JOSIE: Noooo! Come here (
John immediately obeys and gets up to sit right beside her)
I've just worked you right out (with a little help from her friends)
JOHN: (Commands)Tell me and I'll tell ya if its true.
JOSIE: You've got low self-esteem.
JOHN: I'm not as confident as what I make out?
JOSIE: You've got low self-esteem.
JOHN: Um.. you think that I'm insecure?
JOSIE: Yeah.
JOHN: (She's hit the nail on the head)Yeah. (
Josie smiles at him)
yeah you're right, I am. (
Retreats back to his original spot on the grass)
because of my past .. That's why I am the way I am. That's why I feel sorry for.. er so many people.
JOSIE: What happened in your past?
JOHN: Oh cos all the cool girls used to f---in' .. used to give me sh-t.. Not give me sh-t but I didn't like that .. you know like 'Mean Girls'.. Have you seen the movie 'Mean Girls?'
JOSIE: What? And they used to be horrible to you? What, did you not always look like that?
JOHN: Yeah, but I was always.. I always looked the same but I was short. So obviously that's a disadvantage.. I was shortest in my class.
JOSIE: What, you used to get picked on by all the girls in school?
JOHN: I didn't get picked on for what I looked like .. I got picked on for being short.. People used to call me 'little midget bull fighter' ..
JOSIE: 'Little midget' what?
JOHN: 'Little midget bull fighter!'
JOSIE: Bull fighter?
JOHN: (Confides)Yeah, but that's what started it .. Yeah and I was really insecure as a kid, yeah.. I still am. I'm not unhappy though. I'm happy, I just don't like the p--s being taken out of looks and that, but yeah .. I guess that's caused by an insecurity that I've got.. Yeah, so there you go. Took you all that time to work out?
JOSIE: Yep (laughs) I'm not the sharpest knife in the ..
JOHN: I pretty much told you that last night. (when they were talking in bed for about an hour but BB didn't show us annnnnny of it!)
JOSIE: Yeah, but I didn't realise that you were SO insecure.. I didn't understand..
JOHN: (Admits) It's bad.. I don't know what to do about it but..
JOSIE: I just thought you were an angry little man .. you're not little .. (
instantly apologises realising how he could take offence to her words)
Sorry. You're tall!
JOHN: That's why I don't um.. give many people the time of day.
John's insecurities have always shone through in my eyes, even recently when his posts from Loys were leaked. Your insecurities never fully go away .. they can be suppressed but they are always within you and it takes the smallest comment to attack those

While in BB John and Josie helped each other feel more secure in themselves as their relationship developed day by day. The insecurities didn't vanish but their love for each other made their self-confidence grow in other areas .. they still made an appearance from time to time .. but they were able to talk them through and give each other the comfort and consoling that was needed. Outside the BB bubble as their relationship took a nosedive they both spoke of having insecurities in their relationship .. they can rise swiftly to the surface in these circumstances. Sadly, they both took swipes at thes insecurities they KNEW the other had .. they knew exactly where and how to hurt each other the most. And they did because they felt hurt by the other and so they lashed out ..
I've just seen an excellent twitlonger posted on twitter to John and they are SO right. If he knew the things some of his supporters were saying he'd be utterly disgusted! It goes against all his principles he stands for and all the morals he has. I don't understand how some John fans think they are being supportive and appreciative of John by slating Josie and calling her all the horrible names under the sun. And likewise for Josie fans in relation to doing these same things to John. I would not want this kind of support from anyone .. and the very things they are accusing John of Josie of doing/being are the same negative traits they possess themselves. TAKE A LONG, HARD, LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!
Nominations:
JOHN: I guess.. I can nominate Caoimhe.. There's enough bitching in here already without her eavesdropping on peoples conversations .. and that just makes me question her motives. So maybe if I knew her better I would know that her motives weren't bad.. but at the moment I don’t know.. I'm assuming that they are bad. (His next nomination)
Shabby because I'm friends with Benny and he was in a difficult situation last night.. although what he did was wrong he tried to sort it out and um.. she was having none of it.. If people aren't willing to forgive and forget in such a small environment, then what f---in' hope have we got?!
JOSIE- Dave - he's going around saying that gay marriages are immoral when there's a gay man sat in the room and then he's telling everyone that God loves them .. I really don't wanna give this nomination because .. It's Ben .. I didn't like what happened last night because it was a bit underhanded and I don't like the sneakiness of it .. to say that Shabby would do something like that is very wrong.

The majority of the HM's are playing rounders in the garden. John is confused as to which team is winning 'what's the score? Does anyone know the score?'
Meanwhile, the Tree of Temptation talks to "Scabby" (as he calls her) and sets her a task. She has to hang around with 'best mate Ben' for the afternoon and remain within touching distance of him until 5. Shabby also must give him 20 compliments and rely on all her 'acting skills for this' in order to 'win a treat for you and a friend.' Tree also chastises Shabby on her overuse of her favourite word 'Stop saying heinous, it gives me splinters!'
*
Shabby instantly approaches Ben who is lying regally in bed with cotton pads on his eyes. 'Alright, mate. You don't seem like you're doing well today.' Ben admits he is '
fed up' and '
ashamed' of himself.
'I arrogantly thought when I first saw you that we would hit it off!' Shabby was successful in keeping in close proximity of Benny boy for 1 hour and 20 minutes but did not compliment him once! Throughout her tedious task she was continually asking what the time was so time was evidently dragging and she couldn't wait for it to be over.
Ben believes of himself and Shabs '
In some ways we're too similar.' (
which is something I repeatedly post about John and Josie.. he even said words to that effect in one of their first interviews) The Tree of temptation allows Shabby a further 30 minutes to complete her 20 compliments. And to add insult to injury orders her to deliver a bear hug to Ben for an entire minute! Which she throws herself into it in the kitchen and
John's eyeballs almost pop out of their sockets! Shabby uses the pretence that she's 'really missed hugging' when she throws her arms around him. While Shabby and Ben endure this hug of horror, John looks on amused but suspicious as he DRIES UP the dishes!!!!! (
And the HM's gave him grief for not doing any housework – there is the evidence that he did help out caught on camera) My particular favourite compliment is when Ben and Shabby discuss the series of books by Enid Blyton 'The Famous Five' and Shabby 'compliments' “
You'd make an excellent Dick!' (
I sprayed juice halfway across the room when I watched that live!!) John announces to nobody especially
'I've got a mate called, Dick' (
AKA Dikals, the sexy turtle)
*Shabby is rewarded with a romantic meal with her chosen companion, Caoimhe. They are both suitably awkward throughout the dinner but enjoy the food, all the same.
*Whilst, the girls munch on their meal, Ben and the HM's are re-creating the Jerry Springer chatshow. Ben is the host and the episode is titled
'tarts and tantrums.' Ben asks the 'audience' whether they know any tarts. Josie calls out 'no, not at all!' and Steve points to Josie saying 'here's one!' (
Howwww RUDE!)
*Shabby and Caoimhe return razzled from their wining and dining. John seems jealous that they'd been treated to tasty tucker 'did they give you a meal?' Shabby becomes exceedingly embarrassed and as the questioning becomes worse she hides under her duvet. Josie and Corin come to find her and have a girly chat. Shabby is saddened as she 'always gets the girl I fancy' and she is not having any success in seducing her sister from another mister. Josie mourns
'I never get the bloke I fancy!' (
UNTIL she got John James!!)
*Caoimhe rages in the Diary room as she feels BB are messing with Shabby's emotions knowing that she is 'madly in love' with her boyfriend. Shabby is sharing the goss with her girls that sometimes 'it seems like the feeling is mutual; then she remembers she has a boyfriend.'
*Shabby is sat alone in front of the doors out to the garden. John sensing she is feeling down approaches her to ask 'what's up, Shabs?' Shabby explains that it is too claustrophobic etc. in the house. John empathises 'yeah, I feel like that sometimes too.'
*
Josie, John and Govan are chatting in the bathroom about Shabby's plight.
JOSIE: She's finding it hard. Must be so horrible, SO horrible. (
John looks like a stunned mullet so Josie fills him in further)
Basically, Shabby's falling in love with Caoimhe.
JOHN: What does Caoimhe think of it?
JOSIE: Well, it's her mate, innit!
JOHN: (Presses) She's not interested?
GOVAN: I don't think so (
not in a romantic sense at least. I believe Caoimhe found a soul sister with Shabby and LOVED her company and even flirting with her.. but she didn't return her feelings of ardour)
*Shabby has a sob in the Diary room
*
Nathan natters with Johnny pops -
NATHAN: I seriously can't see you leaving for weeks.
JOHN: (Genuinely taken aback) Really?
NATHAN: You haven't p---ed that many people off. You p---ed Josie off but ..
JOHN: I'm the only one that has p---ed someone off, aren't I? (
Are we forgetting the furore with Ben? The scenes caused by Sunshine? The disastrous holes dug by Dave? The squabbles with Shabby? Etc etc.)
*The episode ends with Shabby confessing to Caoimhe that she'd been issued a task from the Tree to make up with Ben. Caoimhe finds this HILARIOUS!!
