Deep frying sausages?

I have heard of folk doing this. Don't they explode? Do you use a lower temp and for how long?

They don't explode. Make sure they are defrosted and cook at 150c for about 8 minutes.

I've cooked them from frozen before. I put them on a low/medium setting when the oil was not fully heated. This meant that the oil gradually got hotter and cooked the sausages through.

Not the healthiest method buy tastes good

I admit the image they use doesn't look that appealing or appetising, but I've done it before and it's fine. All depends on the choice of sausages and other ingredients.

I tried once but they became all deformed. The skin snapped and curved them into big C's with what looked like a tendon attached lol

Sounds like you had been supplied with a sub standard Sausage.

I did one of these tonight and it came out perfect: http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/asda-..._pack_1Kg.html

Talking about bursting, there is a special hot dog called a ripper that is deep fried and you know when it's done because the skin rips and becomes crispy.

It's a favourite in New Jersey.
