Hi guys,
Need a bit of help here. I'm planning to unveil my new drink at an upcoming house party with lots of potential attendees. The drink is just regular peach schnapps, but the secret is in the ice cubes. The ice cubes will contain even more peach schnapps and as they melt in the drink, they will release more an more alcohol.
So here's the problem: There could a lot of people coming, and I don't know if my freezer can keep up with the demand for ice cubes. I may only be an amateur mixologist, but I know that alcohol combined with water freezes much slower than regular water (and would therefore make MY ice cubes take forever to freeze).
Now, I've heard that stainless steel ice cube trays (like this one) freeze ice cubes significantly faster than plastic trays. Just how much faster are we talking here? I'm going to have around 5-10 ice cube trays for the event, so would it be worth it to pick up some stainless steel trays to speed up the process?
Thanks to everyone in advance!
(Side note: can anyone recommend any other techniques to make ice cubes freeze faster? Does covering them with a top help?)
