My sister in law is on BT broadband and wonders if she can have BT Vision without having a ring main in her house. Her electricity is from spurs in various places.

Really she should get it rewired but cannot afford it.

Any suggestions?

I would have thought that all will be well as long as her router is in the same room (or connected via a wired connection) to the BTV box near her TV.

It is unlikely that the supplied (or available free on request) Comtrend Powerline mains ethernet adaptors will work in these circumstances.

I would have thought they would work fine as long as everything is fed from the same consumer unit.

If her Home Hub and BtVision box are in the same room then you don't need to worry about the type of mains she has. If not then the other solution is to use a length of Ethernet cable between the rooms.
