iPhone4 start screen
Hi all
I have just got an iPhone4 and have a little niggle (I'm sure it's an easy fix!). What I want for example, is when I tap the 'settings' icon, for it to take me to the first screen of the settings menu - not the last screen I was on when in settings last time. Does this make sense?!!

Congrats
Top left corner under your signal bars there will be a "back button", with the name of the previous screen. Press that, until you get back to start of settings. Next time you start settings it will be on "first" page. ![]() Also, if you can, jailbreak it, (real easy), and install a program called "iGotYa"...it's excellent!! If your phone is nicked, or lost, and someone puts in the wrong passcode, (you do have a passcode on don't you?), it will not only take a picture of the criminal, it will email you a link, (to view on another phone or pc), of Google Maps where you can see a 3d image of where the phone is currently located! Fantastic piece of software and it is what Apples "Find my phone" should be. If you don't want to jailbreak, then put Apples "Find my iPhone" for free. It does basically the same except the photo bit. Hope this helps. Enjoy your iPhone4 |

Thanks for the reply, I can see I can go back screens while in settings, but was sort of hoping there was a 'forget where I was option'!!.
Yes I have a passcode on, I will have a look at iGotYa as I've been struggling to set up 'Find my iPhone' - every time I try to create a mobileme account it says it can't verify my Apple ID (although it is verified!). A quick Google shows lot's of people having this problem............. |

The apple id you use is your apple id you use to login to the app store.
Download the app on your phone. Then start it up and sign in using your apple app store id. |

You've done everything THIS PAGE says? Skip this bit on the page. Quote:

Also, make sure your email spam filter isn't blocking the verification email by mistake.

Yep, got as far as step 5 - I had the verification email, successfully verified, but MobileMe says it can't verify when I try it again.

Just for info, setting up MobileMe worked today, I didn't do anything different, it just decided to work instead of saying it couldn't verify my account.

With regards to the settings app - its to do with multitasking - it "freezes" the settings app so that when you resume it it takes you back to where you left off. Two options - go back to the main screen before closing the app, or when closing the app, remove it from the multitasking tray. |
