Something I'm seeing a lot of on the streets, shopping centres of the uk at the moment. Seems a lot of the girls in them though, you can quite clearly see what underwear they have on underneath, or are these leggings in fact tights or just cheap leggings made with thin material? Surely these girls must take a look at their behinds in the mirror before going out and realise their knickers are on show for all to see? Coming from a male point of view, I'm not complaining. Just wondered if any females on here have gone with this look or know of anyone who does this? What do you think to this or should leggings only be worn with something that covers the bum?

If you've got a nice pert bum, which a few girls I've seen wearing these have, then it's fine. If you haven't, which the majority of people don't, then it's a massive no no, they are not a suitable replacement for jeans/trousers.

Never mind seeing what underwear they have on, there's been a few times when you can quite clearly see they're not wearing any.

Leggings and vest tops seem to the be the main choice of clothing for a lot of very fat women who have obviously never checked out their rear view in the mirror.

Always makes me think of Katona Kebab on DOI. She was wearing a particularly tight gold affair, so tight in fact I'm sure I could see her hymen. (Insert vom smiley)

I doubt that KK still has a hymen.

I don't like leggings on their own, they should be worn with something long enough to cover your bum. I saw a girl a few weeks ago who was wearing black leggings but they were really see-through and she had bright pink underwear on. If you are going to wear them at least wear underwear that doesn't show through.

This trend is vile , it's been here in Ireland for over a year.

I think, nice figure or not, it makes the wearer look smelly.

There was a woman in front of me today and I felt like saying to her "I really don't want to look at your @rse on my way to work now get out of my face".

But it can be worse, I saw one larger lady JOGGING in see through cycle shorts down a busy street she either had a g string or nothing because I could see everything bouncing up and down.

In a way I admired her for not caring what the likes of me think but on the other hand -> puke.

Pert bum = good

or saggy crotch = not good

gf does wear leggings (and has a nice bum), but usually with a short skirt or dress so looks quite nice - and can't see her underwear...

Short top + Leggings = HORRIBLE! it doesn't suit anybody, whether they have a nice bum or not!

I wear leggings a lot, but as a larger lady, I wear them with dresses or long tops. I wouln't dream of wearing them with a short top

I saw a girl in town the other day and she had a pair of what can only be described as wooly tights on, that she mistakenly (please, she must have) put on instead of her leggings! I could see her large pants through them and she had a short top on. She was with her boyfriend/husband. Could he have not advised her that it wasn't a good look.....I know my husband would have mentioned that my pants were on show!

I hate to think it (but unfortunately my mind always seems to be directed to the sickest thing it can think of) but what the hell is breeding down there *gag*

Perhaps we'd best not dwell on that thought...

I think the outfit is good if you have a nice figure, I usually see middle aged fat women wearing leggings with short tops. Some leggings aren't see through, depends what type you're wearing.

Most of the middle aged women I see have better figures than the young ones. Probably because having a muffin top and being proud of it wasn't acceptable 10 or more years ago.

I like the trend, though you need a good quality pair of leggings to do this, not the cheap see through shit out of River Island and the like. When I do, I usually wear a very discreet thong or no knickers at all as any VPL is a no no with leggings. I have seen the underwear of larger ladies wearing leggings of an incorrect size and underwear of slim ladies in cheap Primark leggings.

would I dare tell my gf that I could see her pants...?

that's why my gf's wardrobe contains 'nude' things, wearing a black thong under black leggings is no less visible than wearing white under white

They're not see through at all if you buy good quality leggings, leggings used for the purpose of showing off your behind - Accessorize/Monsoon leggings aren't thin, nor are some New Look and Topshop ones but be prepared to pay £17 for one pair of decent leggings. Leggings from Primark, Next, River Island (really bad) and any cheap ones in stores mentioned above are all basically footless tights. I have tried wearing my nude underwear with leggings, but even seamless, discreet underwear still leaves VPL. I shall stick to wearing none.

Do you not feel naked doing that? What about in brightly lit places if you happen to bend over for whatever reason, like for instance supermarkets. Isn't that worse for you than the dreaded VPL? How see through are the ones you wear?

LOL not see through at all, that's why I only buy good quality leggings.

can't imagine you'd see anymore than if the wearer had just a g string on underneath.....
