Forrest Gump - DVD Sound Problems

Has anybody played this through their 5.1 system? I have been unable to hear sound through rear speakers and was wondering if anybody else had the same probs.

I know it's not my system as everything else has been fine!

Help anybody?

The movie only has a few scenes were the rears kick in.

The rest of the movie has a very forward mix to, but I can confirm that the Laserdisc realeased sortly after the movie cam out is the same.

Pity, as it's a top notch movie.
Who knows, maybe one day they will release a remixed version.

can't understand this though as it is the new, much heralded, double disc set. Even during the Vietnam scenes there is no rear sound.
Interestingly, the extras disc disusses the mix with the sound producer and he stresses the brilliance of the effects which are not there. I'm just wondering if I jave a fault?

I watched this the other night. I also noticed the lack of rear channel sound. Also i had a couple of picture "hiccups". The worst bit was when Jenny comes back home and Forrest is mowing the lawn. Anyone else had this or have i got a dodgy disc. Still a good movie though.
