Does anyone enjoy listening to "male versions" of female songs?
They're only audacity edits of the actual track but I've discovered them recently and actually quite like them. Some examples...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY4oRTTbMZg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSVHS...eature=related Sure, most of them sound like incredibly camp gay men but I've become a fan nonetheless. I find them much more tolerable than the awful "chipmunk" edits. Does anyone else listen to them often? |

I like it the other way round, like when Cyndi Lauper sang Prince's 'When U Were Mine' without changing the genders and so it comes across as all lesbiany.

I really liked Ne yo's version of Take a bow. I mean he wrote it so he can sing it whenever but he did like a reply to it and i enjoyed it

I don't know but I do love Jojo's version of Marvin's Room way, way better than Drake's (which I don't even like)

I wasn't talking about a singer actually covering a song originally sung by someone of the opposite gender, I was talking about these audacity edits. Unless I'm missing something...

I love a lot of male versions of female songs. Too many to name really, but often add a bit for me.

Lovely male version of Britney's "Radar":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN_R07XJzIE Really different take on the song. The original seems just full of lust, but this one seems like its full of love (Cheesy, I know!) I always thought the lyrics seem a bit manly anyways, like it was written for a guy.

...Never mind then, I suppose the thread title was a little misleading. Quote:

Also, I prefer his original version of How Come U Dont Call Me Anymore better than Alicia Keys' version! Another example is, I totally love Prince's version of Joan Osbournes' One Of Us, as well as his version of Bonnie Raitt's I Cant Make You Love Me!! They are both on his Emancipation 3-CD set!! George Michael also covered the Bonnie Raitt song as well, which is also very good!! Theres so many!!! ![]()

I loved Matt Cardle's versions of Baby One More Time (which I know was just a copy of the Travis version, but still...) and You Got The Love. Those were the performances that made me a fan of him.
