This song is amazing.I love the lyrics, very personal and raw and I also love the video, even though it's unofficial. It makes me interested again after how poor 'Lucky Day' and the 'Fix You' snippet were.I've loved 3 of the tracks so far (BOMT, this one and 'Porcelain Heart') and I'm hoping for more great songs on the album along the lines of those 3.

Had this on repeat for ages now. The emotion is so palatable.

I never liked BOMD or Lucky Day, but I love this. Totally unexpected. She sounds very vunerable here.

It doesn't wow me at all
- it's a very nice song and I really appreciate how she experiments with her voice and sound to compose a ballad which is quite atmospheric, minimal and bare but there's something about her singing style which kills it for me. I can see how vulnerable and emotional of a song it is through the lyrics and the melody but her vocals are a bit too much for me. Her voice is rather flat and she's trying too hard to give it some depth when there's no need with this song. She should have just let her emotions do the singing...Still I'd have preferred seeing this released instead of Lucky Day. Where's the logic in here, me think?

Beautiful track - never could understand all the mean press directed at her, she is a pretty girl. People are just nasty sometimes I guess.

Wow that is brilliant. Poor girl for having felt like that, the press and everyone always gave her a hard time.

She has talked a lot about how she focused on making the lyrics to this album very personal. And based on the songs she has released so far that is really the case. While I usually don't care that much for lyrics, I rather listen to the music instead, the lyrics to this song really caught my attention.
So many artists talk about how they are making their lyrics personal, but in the end you can't tell that's the case. But listening to Nicola's lyrics, one can really tell she has poured her hart into them. I've said it before and I say it again: I'm buying the album. All the tracks I've heard so far have rocked. I also liked BOMD and Lucky Day very much. Most people seem to hate them, but I really like the experimental nature of them, the mixture of electronica, pop, quirky sounds and somewhat heavy beats. The fact that Nicola didn't go down the obvious road of the kind of pop and R&B that everyone else does, makes her solo material unique and personal. And I've noticed that even though most of the general public have not liked her music so far, critics have really praised it. And I think she deserves it. |

She probably wrote the song sticks and stones because of comments like this. |
