Having just upgraded my old Wildfire to a Desire S, I set about getting the Wildfire unlocked and put onto another network (Vodafone) with a PAYG SIM just for those (frequent) occasions when I'm in a '3' Black Hole.

It seems that I made a mistake by doing a £10 Freedom Freebee top-up, as it expired after 30 days having scarcely used it and it was no use at all abroad as I had no recorded call credit as such (and the My Account on their web-site confirmed this).

I notice that all of Vodafone's other so-called Freebees promising different combos of minutes, texts and data use the phrase 'in addition to your credit'.

Am I right in thinking that the actual call/text credit on these continues past the 30 day cut off?

I also suppose that if you have a balance that mentions real money, then the phone should be able to roam abroad, albeit gobbling up your credit at a higher rate.

It's increasingly difficult to find a network whose FAQs actually give you the answer to the question "How long does my credit last?", but then they don't want occasional users I guess.

Try these, seem to be pretty good and they are cheaper than mainstream.
