Question about Freesat+ Recorders

Hi all,

I am interested in getting a Freesat recorder but am wondering if there is one that will allow me to use my existing Sky card for FTA channels like LFC TV ?. I know that some freesat decoders allow you the use a Sky card for channels like LFC TV, but wasn't sure about the recorders.

Is there anyone here who could advise ?

Many Thanks

No Freesat receivers or recorders have a card slot. The only ones that do are sky boxes and to record without a subscription costs £10 per month. LFC TV is neither FTA or FTV, you need at least a basic sky subscription to view it.

The Humax HDR+ does have a slot for a CAM module however there is no official Sky CAM available into which to place your card. It does work with some other official CAM modules and cards for various other European satellite providers broadcasting within the footprint (in non-Freesat mode).

I wonder if anyone actually uses a freesat CAM?
