I believe it is possible to install it on a jailbroken iPhone however for the vast majority of users the above poster is correct and it isn't possible

It's kinda pointless, with HTML5 and the tools Adobe have just released, flash is on its way out. It's a CPU/Battery hog!

Thanks all, I checked and something about apple won't allow it
A shame mind as other phones can use it.

Video is pointless . It is a CPU, battery hog.
Flash is often better for video though. |

I wonder why apple don't support flash.
But to summarise: 1. It's a security disaster 2. It's a performance disaster 3. On mobile devices it's a power consumption disaster 4. It's way behind the curve technology wise, and Adobe are very slow at integrating new technology into Flash. 5. It would allow circumvention of Apple's App Store rules. Flash is a relic of the early days of the web when there were no universal standards for advanced web features. It will eventually die out as browsers become more and more sophisticated and HTML5 evolves further. The only problem is what happens until then. Unfortunately, we'll be stuck with Flash for a while longer. |

From what I know Flash is the only thing that allows web sites to protect their content.
Remove Flash and anyone can steal copyrighted material. Obviously if DRM was standardised across every browser then there would be no need. Until then much stuff will only ever get onto the web via APPS |

I suppose it depends what websites you intend to visit. I've had my iPhone for 18 months and I think in all that time, the lack of Flash has only stopped me seeing a webpage 3 times, and with so many websites which run videos now also having dedicated apps, it's becoming a less important feature to have (in my opinion). But hey, perhaps I don't visit the right (or should that be wrong) websites.

When I used an iPad for the very first time I visited the BBC to be instantly met by a big banner 'you need to install Adobe Flash'
No doubt it is slightly different on a mobile though obviously if its also someone's copyrighted material the BBC will usually have to block it. I'm not sure what the situation is now. |

Here's another browser app that supports Flash - by all accounts its smoother than Skyfire:

Let's be honest, there is one true reason apple won't integrate flash in iOS....money
If iOS had flash people would play flash based games for free on the internet rather than pay for games through the app store |

IOS and the iPhone are arguably archaic and outdated but people live with that.

If that's the case why hasn't anyone come up with better... Andriod is mostly a copy and what personalisation there is isn't much of a huge benefit.
