I've just finished watching today's ep. Ben really is a bitch but when it comes to Estelle I can't blame him. This is the first week I've cared who goes - it has to be her! I'm backing Angie in this battle.
What about when Bradley responsed to Ava finding out there was no tofu - "just think, it could be worse you could have just found out your whole family was dead" !What's with the 18 minute episode? Almost pointless, especially with no episode tomorrow at all. I was looking at BBAUS forums and one of the posts was saying that Michael said, people expect Ben to be the voice of the house and therefore if there are problems with someone, he's the speaker. I'm sure Ben does love this role, but it's not really doing him any favours. Though I thought the fact that he and Angie both talked to Estelle re their thoughts, was better than everyone moaning about her behind her back. I feel that in a sense Estelle is using Ava in a kind of she knows what she's doing way (distancing both of them from the group) so it looks like an heroic battle of her and Ava against the world. After all, much better to have someone on side when you're going for that battle and also a sure fire way of getting public support. So I hope she goes. Yeah Bradley and his mouth. I find him so annoying, I get he's a teenager and feels he can say and do what he wants, but he really is beyond irritating. |

The thing that annoys me though is they scrapped the individual highlights show on Sunday that used to give us the weekend action. Now it's all squeezed in with the eviction and really screws with the momentum of the series. It feels like we have no idea what is going on over Friday / Saturday at all with it all focused on one / two things. |

The boys are annoying with all their views on women so would love to have a female there who gives them something to think about!
That's what would make it for me - I hate to hear women talked about as though they have no other purpose than to appeal to men (even though I can do that about men sometimes Quote:
Plus when HM's start playing the victim thing, like Estelle is, always a little wary of whether real victims or whether just unlikable and HM's find it hard to be mates with them. After all the victim card is a strong one to have for public sympathy.
The sympathy card is such an overdone thing in most shows of this type that it immediately makes you wary doesn't it. Plus, we have things in our lives that can make us feel a victim and the best way to deal with it is to sort it out and not keep making the same mistake.Quote:
Estelle does seem to have managed to pee off every HM and their moans about her have been pretty consistent, so I guess she hasn't got a popular personality.
That's what makes me think the way I do about Estelle. In Ep 30, I rewound it and she did cut Angie off in mid-sentence (although Angie needs to stop and breath - that would put a natural break in her conversation, she does go on a bit) but tbh, most of them do that.

He kind of reinforces the suggestion that people should be tested for parenting skills before they have children !

BB Australia used to have mainly 30 minute episodes, so the fact we get this many hour episodes is a step up anyway. But Fridays are generally the lowest rated day, so I can see why they don't bother with a longer episode. Not to mention Australia had double the amount of commercial breaks, which explains why its just that little bit shorter.

The reason the Friday episode is 30 minutes is because on the East Coast Nine show NRL from 7.30, so there is no way the episode can be extended. It is the same with the Block and any other stripped weekly show that Nine has The NRL finishes at the end of the month so maybe in a few weeks it will be extended. If Friday episodes only rate around 750,000 then there is little point having a Saturday episode, it is theoretically possible, but apart from the ABC no network makes an effort on Saturdays just showing either sport or old movies. The Sunday episode is then restricted to an hour because 60 minutes is always on at 7.30 unless for special occasions like the olympics where it is not shown at all. Likewise Nine News is always broadcast at 6pm, meaning that the show has to go on between 6.30 and 7.30, and as the eviction is that night the highlights for Friday and Saturday are severly condensed. The only other option is to have a second show at 8.30, but as that slot is nearly always reserved for drama it is unlikely to happen. Monday-Thursday shows are unrestricted by shows fllowing it meaning 90 minute episodes, or in the case of Thursdays 2 hours of programming can be shown.
I haven't seen much of Big Brother this year, mainly just on Sundays and Thursdays when there is nothing else on. Bradley is the most annoying character in the house by far, I get that he is socially awkward, but I think he uses it too much in order to be a creep and to an extent get away with it. On the whole most of the contestants are vacant airheads, which is a shame because Nine promised otherwise. And as for the confidential show, I eally on't understand how it retains about 90% f teh Big Brother audience, it is utter drivel . Why they don't bring back up ate is beyond me, even if they just put it on digital (though its hardly as if Nine have anything decent on at 9.30 Sunday-Wednesday) |

Bradley to me is a typical teenager, thinks he can say and do as he wants and doesn't listen to what people tell him for the best! I don't think the HM's made him like that, he just is. Really annoying |

I never had an opinion on Estelle but this week it's been SO annoying how the entire house without exception has been bitching about her. It's really made me like certain people less like Stacey, Layla, Ben & Angie.
I know she has latched on to Ava - but can you blame her with the way her fellow HMs so clearly don't like her??? For someone who hasn't done something to make people not like them (like Ben has for example) I feel like it's really not fair and borderline bullying.Ben bitching about her while she was in the bedroom was not right. The whole thing was not comfortable to watch for me. Another controversial opinion - I don't like Michael anymore. I think he is well and truly aware of what type of character is liked by the public. The way he catches the camera (although he can't see them I know) just doesn't ring true - the cake fight being a perfect example and the way he acted through the wildlife task - there's just something about him as he does have everything to be a great HM on paper but I'm just not sure. |

Yeah, the editing throughout the whole week made it look like the house was bullying Estelle, when they weren't really, they just wanted to get to know Ava.
I also doubt the sincerity from the pair of them to each other. To me Estelle was gonna make Ava mates with her even if it killed her! It was like a desperate attempt to get someone to like her, so sticking to her like glue worked. I was trying to think when Ava went in, did she know that some of the public were sympathetic to Estelle? If she did, it was a good move to stick with Estelle, show how she was nice and caring to the 'picked upon' girl, can't do your public image too much harm. Or maybe that'e me just being cynical! |

Pretty shocked with the result, but not particularly devastated tbh. This week was built up as an Estelle vs. everyone sorta situation with Angie one of the main opposers so I can see why Ray was forgotten about in this whole thing. I appreciated him because he was quite a good character but at the same time there was something a little smug about him I didn't really like. It put me off having him as a favourite.
As for Estelle / Ava, IMO it's all genuine. It did seem very quick off the ground but then again Estelle really had no one once Ryan left and we only see 30 mins - 1 hour of footage. I think they just really hit it off, even if part of it is really just needing someone they could both get along with. On the other hand, I can completely see where the other housemates are coming from. Although Ava is a big girl and she can do what she wants. It shouldn't be that hard to be able to pull her aside and have a conversation with her. I also think they're way too harsh on Estelle at times. Most of the crimes she's accused of, other housemates commit as well. For example, Angie is just as much of a culprit for talking over people as Estelle is. I just think its got to a point where the hate is becoming a little ridiculous. It may just be the way the show is being edited, but this was bound to gain her some support with the level some of the others can't keep their gob shut about her. Benjamin seems to be the worst and I really wish someone would knock him off this pedestal he seems to be on. Maybe the intruder can do something to sort some of them out? |

or she's just happy to have someone who will accept her more. I think it's others who want to battle with Estelle, and naturally Estelle is very happy to have an ally. Why wouldn't she want that? Why wouldn't anyone? I find Angie too moody and there has been strong suggestions in past programs that she is in some way jealous of Estelle. The 'cool' groups on BB are always a bit intolerant and a bit shallow really. Quote:

The 'cool' groups on BB are always a bit intolerant and a bit shallow really. I thought the whole Estelle/Angie thing was re Josh, which doesn't seem to be an issue at the moment. I could see why Angie would be peeved. She wasn't on any promise with Josh, but Estelle did start turning her attentions to him as soon as Ryan had gone. I think most girls who had a snuggle buddy like Josh was would be peeved. Cool groups normally are! But if you're seeing the cool group as anyone but Estelle, Bradley and George, I don't think all fall under those headings. |

No way are Estelle and Bradley part of a 'cool' group.
Looks like you like a man and a woman to be buddies, but not two women, which doesn't make that much sense to me. It's Big Brother things are much intense as people are stuck together with very different personalities, small things get on people's nerves. This has to be said every year here. And of course it is a game so part of that is trying to isolate people and creating a strong enough group against them. Not being allowed to talk about nominations means nothing as the alliance building pretty much decides that another way. And the new HM is pretty much just fed to the wolves (just like they used to do on the British version, sending in someone on their own). Naturally enough she will gravitate to someone who needs her and who will be more welcoming. So seems quite explainable to me. |
