I'm surprised that Ray went, I didn't really mind him that much. I would have preferred Estelle to go.

As far as the Estelle situation is concerned, I'd take George as a good barometer of what's going on: George doesn't have an opinion on most things and has very little to say about anything (other than to rate females on a scale of 1:10) so when someone like George states a dislike for another HM (especially a female and one he rated as the 'hottest' to begin with), it has to be accepted that Estelle is doing something that is peeing off the whole House.

Still really enjoying BBAU - wish ours was more like that.

People just jump on bandwagons as well. Anyway if Estelle is getting on some people's nerves (because for the 100th time here small things become big in the BB environment) then that's all the better. Loved it when Marcus and Freddie annoyed the whole house in BB10, they helped make the series.

I think it has been quite nasty- Benjamin, Layla, Stacey and Angie can be quite mean (although I don't mind it so much from Benjamin and Angie as they are fun too)

I don't know what it is about Layla I don't like- pretending she didn't know about cricket possibly. With Stacey it's telling people how 'mad' and 'crazy' she is.

I haven't liked Layla from the start, the whole 'stupid' thing like she is the innocent reminds me of some HMs on the British version. I don't find less intelligent people interesting or cute. And I found it funny when someone (an evictee?) said her accent was cute, definitely not to me.

It was Ava, before she went into the house, who said Layla's accent was cute.

What I don't get about those who moan about Estelle hogging Layla is why one or more of them doesn't just go over and join Estelle and Ava while they're talking and join in.

Ok I'm happy with the one who is up with the 3rd most nominations, really hoping they will go, they should I think.

I tink this was Estelles intention
She tried the get to be sister to the poor geek (Bradley) it backfired cos he fell for her
She tried the showmance - he got evicted
She is now trying to play the victim card - succeeding so far
Making Ava her property means the other housemates have to play by her rules to get access - Ava will be nominated and out as soon as is possible - so Estelle will be safe again if she is not out this week

I think everybody thought Ray would be safe so did not vote in the same numbers this week - we seen this happen before in a vote to save

I do not know how Angie got the most votes - I thought she was as at risk as Estelle - who knew

No, I think she is friends with Ava because they get on. And on Big Brother I don't think people tend to voluntarily take the role of victim.

I really think others in there scheme more than Estelle. Others have tried for showmances too, such as Layla, Angie, George, Josh. Showmances really are just a kind of alliance anyway.

Just had a marathon, well for me, catch up from thursday to the nominations today.

Estelle is obviously incredibly annoying to live with, as someone above mentioned, even George has mentioned it, however, I thought benjamin was rather nasty to her in that chat.

He doesnt own the house, proclaiming estelle was doing something wrong by being friends with ava was a low trick, hes playing on her insecurities deliberately to try and split them up.

It also objectifies ava and a piece of property , as if she has no choice who she hangs around with, even his phrasing suggests this 'everyone wants a try with her' or similar.

He and stacy have been stuck together like glue since day one themselves, and they are a pair of rathe rnasty individuals when you strip away the faux laughter and pretentious slang. They bitch about people, a lot, no matter how he tries to wrap it up. A pair of superficial dolts.

Not sure on Micheal, I see him mentioned earlier in the thread, I think hes just playing the part that gets him the least hassle from the rest of them , he is quite amusing when he can be bothered, I would guess he'll get as far as the final no matter what.

I dont really like estelle myself, but I think the shows better with her there , bradley has disappeared into the background these days, along with george and zoe, plenty of boring people to go way before estelle in my view.

A normal tactic is also to nominate somebody who you think others will in order to save yourself. That most certainly doesn't help either Estelle or Bradley who have got plenty of nomination points in the past and so are obvious targets.

George got a bit of a problem this week, I think that 4pts is going to gnaw at him a bit.

I did say they weren't in the cool group and not sure why you think I don't like two women being friends scenario. I quite happy for anyone to be mates with anyone, regardless of gender, but I find Estelle and Ava unbelievable and way to close, way too quickly considering they hardly knew each other. If they'd both been in their a while and were doing the sick bucket routine of 'my best friend' and all the other stuff they did, I would get it more. But this was going on a day after Ava joined the main house and just seemed very false.

It does seem the intruder falls into the 'keep fit and wow girlies have girly bits' character, which they've already got in there and just got rid of similar. But guess we'll see how he goes.

I do think Ava will get nommed, although if she keeps up her thing with Josh, guess that will cut down the Estelle time. Though she could then get nommed because of Angies mates feeling bad for Angie!! Feel a bit sorry for Ava, it does seem who she hangs with could actually cause her problems! But she does need to try and get in with a few more of them if she doesn't want to be an easy target.

I think she's horrible- The way she went on during nominations was cringeworthy. Can't see her going anytime soon, though.

Oh George -you numpty! Still, I'd rather he go than most of the others (even though I'd lose the barometer) as he really doesn't seem to do, or offer, much.

I would still like Estelle to go - most of them are saying that she brings the mood of the House down with negative comments and I don't see them as a pack of rabid animals, maybe she's a bit like Bradley and doesn't listen when told that a characteristic is irritating to others; it's fine to remain true to yourself but, sometimes, the price of that is alienation from the group.

Layla I did like but am going off her - can you really get to that age and be that dim?

I have eaten my words in a big slice of humble pie regarding Ava - she's clearly not a lesbian: my apolgies Ava. I still can't work out all the 'heart beating' between her and Estelle though, that was a strange one. As Jende said, it was a tad too quick.

I see it as just normal talking about people when there's not much else to talk about - most people can say mean things about one another (read posts on DS!). If I compare BBAU to BBUK, BBUK wins hands down when it comes to nastiness (which is why I find it unpleasant to watch). Still, we all have our lines that we don't like to be crossed and the world would be a much more boring place if we all thought the same

Im possibly in a minority of 1 for saying this years BBAUS is not a patch on previous series.

Some good housemates,I like the ones that people dislike here like Estelle,Stacy,Angie,Layla and I couldnt stand the likes of Ray nor do I like Josh,Zoe or George.

The editing this series is dreadful and the big play on showmances is no different than the Chiggy,JJJ rubbish we have here.
Im finding it quite dull because its all showmance with little else for the past week or so and by all accounts ( facebook ) its getting worse.

I miss the excitement on games night and chores issued,I miss the uncut show and the decent tasks,I also miss the supermarket dash to get the food in and even the live evictions seem duller in comparison with the Gretal years.

Its ok to pass the time but this is not the Big brother Australia I spent years following with enthusiasm..According to Ray theres also plenty of nomination cheating going on as well,they seem to be getting away with it when it must be obvious to those editing whats going on.

Theres a few new editions I like but mostly I am dissapointed in the feel of the series so far.

I agree i think she's went armed with the endearing thicko tactic that worked so well with uk audience.

For me, Friday night live is the biggest miss.

Not just because I enjoyed the silliness of it all, but because housemates couldnt hide, dress up as a hamburger and have tomato sauce thrown all over you, no choice in the matter, plus for me the defining point of the run up to the final was always the last friday night games where the four left did the big stunts.

Never forget the girl who came second in the last but one final doing the leap of faith from 40 feet up, so scared she was crying, but jumped anyway.

I like this series, I havent really watched the UK one for the last 3 years it just got so negative with the housemates and the crowds, all enocouraged by production, yes in this years BB Aus there are conflicts and some very bitchy gossip from ben and stacey, but BB himself has a sense of humour, and the HM's are much nicer people overall, and evictions are not some replica of throwing the christians to the lions the ones here have become, screaming crowds and all, but more of a light hearted celebration of what they got up to.

Its not what it was, I suspect there isnt anywhere near the budget they used to have , but its still my p[referred version of BB I think.

I think your right regarding the budget,it really shows.

My main gripe is we were promised that when it returned there would be a worldwide access to a live feed..that never happened and we lost any sort of feed.
We were told things like games night was going because the show was aiming more for an adult audience..well they did away with friday night live but the show remains clearly aimed at a young audience and shown at 7pm so FNL was lost for no reason ( other than the budget )..We were told the days of the plastic hunks and surf dudes were over yet we have had Ryan,and Josh who seem to be in the house for no other reason than having the obligatory eye candy..even the housemates that sounded like they may be strong characters ( ie Estelle ) have been the centre of a showmance fest.

It is still a welcome break from the bitchyness and negativity of BBUK but this is nothing like what I was expecting when they were hyping it up for months before its return.

While BB is still firmly in control ( unlike BBUK ) I fear that the push towards showmances as central to the storyline and the lack of really interesting and memorable tasks will kill the show off for good in Australia.
This series should have been one that got people talking and watching..instead its a really watered down version of what went before.
I am really going to miss the things like leap of faith..remember the one where they had to walk a very thin plank about 100 foot up in the air and bend to pick a ribbon up..they had to go up higher and higher to win.

They actually had the leap of faith in their show 2 years ago.
I usually watch it via newsgroups ( comes with english subtitles ) I think it will be starting in January 2013 again.
Its got lots of drama and is aimed at adults but they also have a lot of respect for each other so the arguements are not staged or agressive and the conversations they have is much more thought provoking than the fixation of showmances and looking good for cameras...its more in line with the older BBAUS like the one with fitzie and Bree ( I really miss those 2 on FNL ).

The producers seem completely obsessed by showmances. They probably put it in the HMs heads that that is what they want, asking them who they fancy a lot etc. The whole entrance of Ava in a bedroom etc...

BB punishes HMs but not that much, only for a very short while it seems from the HLs. With only the HLs and no live stream it's very hard to tell how strict they actually are anyway.
