Channel 4 are rubbish with their timings.

Do they start programs late on purpose to get people to watch an extra ad break?

No other broadcaster seems to have this problem..”

Different broadcasters drive the data with different systems. The ones further down the Freesat EPG are even worse - they drive them with the EPG times + a standard clock - which is completely unrelated to programme playout.

BBC TV is the best - the transition data is triggered by the playout suite, so is (almost) always perfect.
BBC radio seems to be EPG+clock-based and hence can be useless.

Cheers,
David.

The news last night was way off, it corrected itself about 10 mins into Emmerdale - typical ITV.

Not easily because any lip synch adjustment you make will put other channels out. You can try using the DD downmix to stereo option in the TV menu.

Have you tried this with the latest version of the bundle? I have managed to make a couple of recordings doing this.

The DTG site says that Humax are stopping the current software download on Oct 12th. Presumably we will get the fix for the "EPG waiting" issue then.

I rather suspect that that it actually depends on which channel you are tuned to (Does it transmit freesat data), the type of recording oprtion (Padding or not) and if the channel is an accurate record one.

That would be welcomed - wonder if there will be any other changes.

Non freesat is essential next year.

Need it for F1.

Why not just tune into the traffic reports of the M25... just as entertaining

Now Moto-GP there's a proper motor racing competition, and will still be free-to-view on the BBC.

If only the BBC were to use the HD OB unit for the MotoGP weekends when they are not showing F1 live.

Presume this is with a 2nd dish/motorised dish and you're not going to be doing this with a channel on your dish pointed at 28.2e?

They're cutting the sport budget, what's the betting that Moto GP gets the boot

Confirmed that its working, youll have to do a full EPG download 1st to clear the cache.

After that you can record at any time during the download.

Note that Raydon is working on a patch for 1.00.17 firmware, currently if you upograde you will lose the patch functions.

As Flyer 10 says its a little worrying with new firmware if you go straight to EPG to test you may think the recording setting is still not fixed, second time it it was good.

Well I am not,
they still have not sorted
Subtitles on live pause,
live playback ending when the scheduled record ends
No recording from buffer to the start of the current programme

Theres still lots of things wrong, this one thing has taken nearly a year to fix.

They are either inept, undermanned or just do not care.

You would have also thought they may have tried implementing some of Raydons idea's that he has in his customised firmware or at least making it so you could reinstall it. Though hopefully a fix will be out soon.

Last year they were talking about adding "advanced network functionality", I think thats the wording they used, but then came back to the forum saying that the unit didn't have enough processor power. Well, as we know, there is plenty that can be acheived with the available processing power. They'll be focussing on next generation units now for sure.
