Don't tell me... no fix for the disappearing picture when pressing guide? That would have been too much to ask for.

Humax truly are pathetic with their support for their products.

IMO all of those issues are way more important then the EPG loading one they have deigned to fix and which on its own was not worth rolling out a new version for. Looks like they prioritise on "how easy is it to fix".

Priotity = (importance_to_punters / man_days_to_fix) - likelihood_that_punters_will_buy_next_model

Isn't this (sadly) a general rule for business today ?

Not really a fix, more of a bodge job. Best we're going to get I suppose..

Theres no difference at all but I did have a failure yesterday which I havent had all year.

I was watching a recording and realised another schedule wasnt being recording, I stopped playing and it immediately started to record once it went to live tv.

Could be a coincidence but Id hate for it to happen often.

For what it's worth, something similar happened to me in the last week with the .15 firmware - first time I've come across that issue. Have just loaded the .17 firmware myself and will keep an eye on reliability too.

This is actually not Humax's fault and not really possible for them to fix, so can't really blame them. IMO they should just not show TV behind the guide so it doesn't feel like a bug.

Can't believe they can't get the subtitles sorted though, that's my biggest bugbare by a long way.

Why is it impossible to fix? One tuner does the EPG and the other keeps the show on in the background.

Ive asked many times but no one has answered why this does not happen.

+1 Not seen an answer, its definitely possible.

I assume they didnt want to make the box be aware how many tuners it could use and then use either 1 or 2 depending on the setup.

They just used 1 tuner as every box could do that.

Wonder what happened to .16?

4 is seen as an unlucky number especially so in software after the infamous MSDOS 4 debacle. So 16 is unlucky squared.

The last few final releases have all been odd. e.g .11 .13 .15 .17

It's possible that Humax use the 'even' releases to denote 'work in progress' firmware within the company i.e during the development work stages.

Maybe that is what they were thinking, we don't know as they've been silent on the topic.

I would have thought that displaying the cached EPG with a key-press to fully update the EPG was the sensible thing to do, it would have been really easy to implement. I'm sure someone from Humax reads these forums, please do tell us what the reasoning was.

That of course was another thing that made no sense as well.

The hardware is great but its clear its only tested by the people who made the firmware because its not a logical box at all, they really need more testing from users and not coders.

With all the useless buttons on the remote, theres not even one to switch from FS to non FS mode.

Several posters have been advocating that for a while, might as well not have bothered as Humax clearly are not interested in providing a decent user experience.

I would presume that it impacts rather a lot of code as it is low impact they do not think the resorces would be justified.

I would mention that after installing 1.00.17 you should allow the GUIDE EPG to refresh once (so it was reported elsewhere, otherwise you will not see any change)

So we shouldn't be able to check what's on other channels whilst watching TV, without what we are currently watching cutting out? Why on earth would anyone want that to happen?

I agree with scargill - I think people are more content with consistant behavior.

As Flyer 10 says its a little worrying with new firmware if you go straight to EPG to test you may think the recording setting is still not fixed, second time it it was good.”

Beating you to it here. The firmware has now been released

It is now live to download through the receiver itself by going to Software Update in the menu and searching for one.
