Night x

The thread is full of faces I'm skimming past all the depressing posts otherwise I will go back to my 'why did I have to get obsessed with a fictional couple on a show where no-one has a happy ending' mood
This thread is a continuation of: 'Waiting for Chryed to Get It On' - Christian & Syed (Part 204)

Congrats, Gingerheart!! 205, my god!

From the last thread - I put effort into this, so it shall be posted, goddamit!

I totes get what you're saying but I'm strugglig to explain my brain.

I guess its the 'unconditional love' thing, you have for a child.
Christian's previous actions have suggested he is ready to unconditionallly love a child regardless of where it came from/who it's parents are, so therefore he 'should' love Syed's child like he'd have loved Amy as his own, the Roxy baby or random adopted baby.

Whether he is 'allowed' to love that child of course is another matter, and down to others, and that way lies angst and ick

Ack, brain hurts, cant explain myself. Forget it. Ignore me!
I get what you mean.

I don't think its going to be an issue of Christian failing to love Syed's child. Christian loves kids, he gets on like a house on fire with them and this child is a part of Syed.

The issue is, as you have said, whether he is allowed to love the child. And, also, whether the child's presence makes him feel excluded from the 'family group' of Syed, Amira and baby - they are, after all, every inch the traditional family image, and people who see them are going to presume that to be the case. I can imagine that happening, someone assuming that Syed, Amira and baby are the family and Christian is just a tagger-on; that would kill Christian

'Watching you and your child grow older through a window.'

On the happy side:

THRUSTYBEDSCENETHRUSTYBEDSCENETHRUSTYBEDSCENE!!!

Congrats GingerHeart

I look at the return like this: once we get all of the drama out the way and Amira leaves (hopefully with the baby) we'll only get a few mentions and a couple of appearances and that's it. Chryed can then move onto bigger and better storylines.

I would disagree. Not with the fact that Christian was a huge douche in this aspect o the storyline, but with the link. A biological link, yes, but Roxy was a surrogate. That baby was never intended to be hers, and, upon birth, it would have been handed directly over to Chryed. There was no sex, no hints at romance (apart from that brief moment on Roxy's part) nothing beyond a sperm sample in a fridge. She was never going to be that baby's mother, anything beyond the initial biology.

This situation is different. Amira is and always will be that baby's mother. That baby is always going to be a reminder of the time when they thought their relationship was impossible - Syed was married to Amira, he had sex with Amira, he chose to marry Amira and try for a family over Christian (as Christian will perceive it). This is Syed and Amira's child, something they share, and Christian is only ever going to be a step-parent. That wouldn't have been the case with surrogacy.
this actually highlights one of the huge issues I had with the surrogacy. Yes, this is how surrogacy works, but when watching the s/l it was made pretty clear that that wasn't how Roxy saw it. It wasn't just one moment of 'romance' for her, she repeatedly said that it was a way for her and Christian to have a bond. Which was awful and sad for her as a character, but was kind of the point of the s/l in many ways, showing how desperate she was for some affection, but they still never properly questioned that, aside from the one conversation with Ronnie (which was also the only time anyone asked if Syed was okay with having a white baby)

Also, in a r/l scenario, you would have to say that the surrogacy was always going to be more complicated than it should be, because of the ties between Roxy and Christian, and the fact that the child would be growing up on the same square as her and Amy. You couldn't have the child and Amy not know of their biological background unless you wanted to risk unintended incest for example. And no-one at any point asked Roxy is she would be able to cut herself off the baby that she was carrying and not feel a bond to it.

None of this negates any of your points, which are completely correct, just showing how the EE scenerio was a rather more complicated situation and could have done with perhaps hinting at this.

/slams lid on surrogacy s/l issues

I got what you meant, and I think he will love the child, but unfairly (for the child) perhaps will always see her as a sign of his past pain.

ETA how rude of me. Congrats gingerheart

Hey Meg Sorry to hear about your family bad news ((((hugs)))) I can pm you any news while you're away if you like? Good luck with Sylae's poll, still haven't done mine yet, but at least we don't have to write any long descriptions so should be relatively quick!

*waves* to Claaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarkey
Hi lovesy, aw, thank you so much, on all accounts . I think I might need some hugs in due course, fingers-crossed things will be okay /positive hat?. Thanks so much elphie too .

Thanks very much for the offer of PM-ing me, that would be lovely, thank you. I'm away from Wednesday evening for a week and a half, so will try to catch up from Sunday evening (2nd Oct)! If the odd PM were possible, that would be brilliant, thank you. xxx

I've just listed some quotes, off the top of my head -a good place to start!

Yes, I agree completely. Gah! It was all such a stupid thing! Roxy definitely saw it differently, that was true, but I was convinced that Christian didn't - he always saw it as his and Syed's baby, however foolhardy he was. Doing it that way was just a stupid thing to do full stop. Too complicated. I have no problem with a surrogacy storyline, I think it would be interesting, but EE screwed up.

Pah.

*spits upon the surrogacy storyline*

Woop, woop for new part, thanks mods!
Congrats GingerHeart on OP!

I was just posting a reply when the thread closed, and I cant be bothered to find the quotes again (sorry!)
Anyway, it was about the possibility of having hold-your-hand-scene coming true.I think this might happen, to a degree, at least in the beginning.
I don't think it will be an issue of Christian actually loving the child (because of course he will be able to imo regardless of the difficulties surrounding the situation) but whether he will have the chance to do so, as Mecury and others say. I think this angle might be played in the beginning of it all, and I will feel like ripping my heart out because John will be AH-MAZ-ING in scenes like that I think.

BUT then Chryed will (somehow) help Amira move on,'break free' and have a good life, they will all love the little girl like crazy and sort out her situation (somehow- useless at speculation) and in the end we will have a wonderful CP and looks like these (thanks Elphie for pic)
/Poinless ramble from Delusionville ... you can all ignore this

Hey to my daaaaaaaaaarling LoveSy /xxx

Big (((hugs))) to Meg, so sorry you've had bad news!!! Hope everything gets better for your family, lovely!! (((hugs))) xxx

Oohh... just remembered: Please, no one leave! *clings onto legs* /xxx
