Whats the most Popular Smartphone out there
Apart from an Iphone that I know almost half the country has and Blackburry that I know seems to be just as popular as an Iphone. Whats the other most popular smartphone or smartphones out there.

Galaxy SII is the best selling at the moment. It's also very cool, I've got one. Recommended.

Yep Darren you missed out Android which as you can see from the link is very much in the ascendancy. Android started out as an overly techy open source alternative to the iPhone, but it's a very complete and user friendly smartphone OS now.
As Paul said, the Samsung S2 is a fantastic phone and has the 'best smartphone' crown at the moment. The HTC Sensation is right on its heels. The great thing about Android is that you've got a huge range of handsets to choose from.. if you want a budget option, I'd recommend looking at the Samsung Galaxy Ace and HTC Wildfire S. |

Apple are not seen as a good fashion item with a lot of bright youngsters these days, my two see the iphone as a 'chav' phone and would not be seen dead using one.

Of course, that definitely accurately describes all iPhone users doesn't it.
I don't give a hoot, so long as I can make a phone call. |

I have never heard anybody call the iPhone chavy as most chavs can not afford the price . It is a high end phone!

they used to say that about Burberry. Having a high price tag doesn't stop something becoming chavvy....

I think chavs are responsible for a high amount of 'designer' gear purchases in this country....real ones, not just the ripoffs.
Of course chavs can buy the low end designer stuff - Nike is a designer brand . We saw from the Riots that most of them had blackberrys and not IPhones . Because they are cheaper to buy and use. |

supposition. Alternately it could be because BBM is very popular in that age range and iphones are no longer seen as cool, the point made by neo_wales. ![]() Quote:
That may be the case but I don't know any chavs that could afford Burberry hats for £150 or a jacket for £600.
chav, and more importantly 'uncool' doesn't necessarily correlate with a lack of money. |

So we turn to me, a relatively normal 23 year old. Am I suddenly a chav if I have an iPhone, a geek if I have an Android handset, or a rioter if I have a Blackberry?
Stop the mindless stereotyping, please. I have an iPhone because it does what I want it to do. Not because I'm following a herd or want one because its an iPhone. |

As to what you are, this chart may be handy. http://www.csectioncomics.com/2010/1...lackberry.html (obviously the last row is US-centric, and needs a UK version) |

We have a corporate account with Vodafone and pretty much allow people to have whatever phone the want. Two years ago most had Blackberrys (I still do!) but there was a gradual shift towards the iPhone 3 and 4 - not because they were a better business phone but they were better for posing down the pub with. Recently however, most of the "trendies" who always want the latest, greatest, phone have been getting Samasung Galaxys S II as their upgrades are due.
The reason I hear that many people are going off iPhones is that they are so locked down to the Apple Way. Android is a much more open a flexible mobile OS and there is a much wider range of devices to suit all needs and budgets. There is no way that Apple will change that philosophy but they have lost a lot of momentum and market share recently. The iPhone 5 needs to be spectacular to catch up with HTC and Samsung. Personally, I'm sticking with my BB Torch. The best smartphone I've had and I'm in no rush to change it. |
