I was thinking the same. It's hardly a groundbreaking. Women gets pregnant.

I was just shocked.. It seems weird that Una wasn't the first to break the news to everyone thats all.

There was a thread a while back predicting who would leave The Saturdays first...

Maybe the band will go on hiatus while Una is away, and a few of them will go solo...

Congrats Una and Ben! The girls seem made up for them.

She's said today that she has no intention of leaving the band, the girls don't want her to and in past interviews they've always said if one of them were to leave they wouldn't replace them. I hope she doesn't leave though - she's my fave Saturday!

If Atomic Kitten can work their way round it when Natasha was preggers, The Saturdays can.

I can see them doing a Greatest Hits next year, it makes sense really. They have the perfect amount of singles for one, they need a break anyway and it means they can go and record a new album and Una can raise her child and return in 2013 with a bang (hopefully ).

The only question is whether Una will be able to do the tour (as she'll be six months pregnant) properly and what'll happen with future singles from the upcoming album. I'm assuming other members will cover her lines in songs, but what about music videos and stuff?

I don't think she'd leave. I don't think Natasha left Atomic Kitten when she was pregnant either.

Although Kerry Katona and Mutya Buena both did leave the bands they were in to spent more time being a Mum.

Look at the state of Kerry Katona now though. I hope Una doesn't end up the way she did.

Una has said she is commited to the band and the tour.

I dont get why everyone is saying that its the end of the sats/what about the tour etc.
Especially some people on twitter. She's pregnant, not dying. As long as she takes it easy the tour will be no problem for her.

Just because she's having a baby doesnt mean she cant be in the band. Plenty of mums work after having a baby, so it shouldn't be any different for Una

Sadly i do think this spells trouble for the band. She says she's commited now, but i don't think she will be. Becoming a mum will always come first.

What I suspect they might do for the tour is modify some of the dance routines so they would be easier for Una but the others can still join in. That would be the fair thing to do IMO.

And Girls Aloud said they'd be back after a year's break...

It's of course too soon to say whether it's end of the road of the girls or for the band at a 5-piece but she's being very diplomatic - or totally clueless? - when stating she's fully committed to the band/tour despite her pregnancy. At this stage that's all she can say but she's in a girlband and I don't think they are designed with members's pregancies in mind! At the end that's what split Atomic Kitten - Natasha did work through her pregnancy and came back to the band after her maternity but the band still decided to split soon after - and caused Mutya to leave - although we'll never exactly know why she decided to leave the band...

True but this might be different, then again it might not.

She might feel differently once the baby's born and change her mind and if she does then good luck to her and if she doesnt then its all good

Of course Una would say now that she is still committed to the band, but who knows how she will feel once she has her baby I think she'll leave the band.

So if she does leave after the baby's born then I guess The Saturdays might continue as a four-piece. I can't see them splitting over that.

If i am honest, the saturdays could go on without Una. The band would only fall apart without Vanessa and Rochelle imo.
