upgrading to better phone after 7 months of Voda contract
Geowitch
16-09-2011
I have had my HTC Desire for 7 months now on contract from Vodaphone. While i like Android as an OS i am disappointed with the phone. It crashes frequently and the SD cards often shows up as having an error.
Is there any reason why I shouldn't sell my Desire on Ebay and buy a Samsung Galaxy S from Amazon? Do I just have to move over the SIM card? Would I need to notify Vodafone?
Sorry to ask stupid questions but I have always stuck with my contract phones before.

You realise any crashing is generally going to be a software issue whilst running Android rather than the hardware?

You need to contact vodafone as your phone should not be doing what its doing.

while i do agree with the two posts above in that the phone should not be crashing, I know a few people who got Desires and have no problems, I got a HTC wildfire and have no problems and you should get in touch with Vodafone.

You asked if you could just put your sim into another phone, the answer is yes, you don't need to tell Vodafone as long as the new phone is unlocked or a old Vodafone one it will work.

you will need to inform Voda if you are paying for their insurance policy

Send the phone back and get it fixed or a new one.

Hi Geowitch,

I am sorry to hear that you are having some problems with your handset.

If you are still covered under warranty with us, we will be happy to fix or replace the phone for you. If you take it to your local Vodafone store, they will arrange this for you.

If you need to contact me, you can do so here by putting WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject. If you do, please include a link to this thread.
