Clearly lots of people like the SCD Games.

Thing is they are now cluttering up the board and many of us really want to just read comment threads. There has been some comment about the abundance of them

Is there any way you can create a separate area for them? That way all the games people know where to go.

Just an idea. It's just that the games thing is getting out of hand

I agree. A Games Section would be good.

Just posting in support of this, it's not the games I object to, more the fact that they are drowning out everything else.

I agree with this also, it would be good to have a games section.

Think itd be a good idea to have a separate area. Its gone into overdrive a bit where there used to only be 2 or 3 theres now 10 or more

Agreed. I wanna talk about the show, not play stupid games which are only peripherally related to Strictly.

I guess though, even if they don't get a separate section, they will be pushed down the list once the show properly starts and we have more to talk about.

I wouldn't say there's enough as at the moment there's only a few, although if it does happen then there might be alot more games started...

theyre not stupid just because u dont want to play them

another section is fair enough but u dont have to react in such a juvenile and offensive way.

Many people who like strictly like to play games too and contribute to this forum all year round. The forums are for everyone not just you. Another section is a good idea to stop it clogging up the boards

I have no objections to the games either but a seperate section, like the appreciations threads in the attic, would be a great idea

I would like them to be in a separate section. They're less relevant than appreciation threads, so it seems kind of silly to weed out the ATs to make the main forum more relevant, but then leave in the games.

Maybe we could have a poll and see what the majority think?

best and fairest way Katie - we had this on the subject of the ATs a few years ago, and it has worked well, with most wanting them in a separate section.

As others have said, I think the forums are for everyone, not for one person to dictate to another - and if people like games with a relevance to the show on this SCD forum, great - it's enjoyable and fun - but, not being a games person myself, do agree it's a bit hard to sift through them on the main board when you want to read threads about the actual show.

My own preference would be a separate section though, so that those who like them can go there and enjoy them, and those who don't, can be on the main board - but - would be happy for a poll so it is fair.

From DS Rules:
Quote:
“Game threads
We know that a lot of forum members enjoy playing forum games and we have created subforums across the board where people can do so. The separate forums are in place so that those who do not wish to participate in games do not have to sift through a list of unconstructive or non-topical discussions to find what they are looking for. If you feel there is a particular forum which would benefit from the addition of a gaming subforum, please contact us.”

I've asked the mods a couple of times to set up a separate section, but got no reply......

Edit - A poll is a good idea. I loves a clicky poll

I think a separate section would be a good idea. I've got no objections to the games themselves, they're just not my cup of tea, but it can be annoying trying to find the threads that i'm interested in amongst the many games that have started.

Okay, I'll take some responsibility here - I've created many games about Strictly and participated in many, and I agree it would be a good idea to have a separate forum, as a) it will be easier to find the games, and b) we can get away from moaners like the one below.

Don't call it stupid. That's very disrespectful, you don't know how much we work on these games. If you don't want to play them, get out of them.

So not that many.

I agree entirely. Also note what fridgesoup says from DS Rules. A poll seems very sensible.

None whatsoever .

Is there any reason you would object to them being in a sub-board?

I do agree that we need a seperate forum - as Strictly season comes back there'll be a lot more games.

I agree - I've no objection to the games, but we do seem to have got to a point where they're becoming a bit of a nuisance to those of us who don't participate. With that quote from the DS Rules I don't quite see the need for a poll, but that's up to the Mods.

I really enjoy the games just as long as we can play them I don't mind it's just posts which say they are stupid
