Favourite Singer From Another Era
I really like Dinah Washington and Donny Hathaway! The latter doesn't get the recognition he deserves IMO; his voice was beautiful!

Jennifer Holliday was vocally just spectacular - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC_u_q-iND0
I was a massive fan of Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie and Aretha Franklin growing up also. I also loved James Brown, Rick James, Nina Simone... Oh the list just goes on. But yes, MJ, Prince, Bowie and Aretha were top of my list and still are, only now, Beyonce has also joined them. |

Dusty Springfield, Cass Elliot, Dinah Washington, Roberta Flack, Karen Carpenter and Shirley Bassey.
Donny Hathaway, Otis Redding, Scott Walker, Marvin Gaye, Matt Monro and Stevie Wonder. Just off the top of my head - I've probably missed someone obvious. |

Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross/The Supremes. I love a bit of Motown.
