I have recently purchased an LG DVD Home Cinema System (Model: LX-D5230), and everything has been working all right so far. Then I hired a film out from Blockbusters (Shaun of the Dead). When I played the DVD, the sound was not working properly. You can hear background noise quite well, but you can hardly hear the actors actaully speaking. I think that film has Dolby-Digital 5.1 or something. Not sure if it's anything to do with the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, there is no problem with other DVDs that I own.

sounds like a dvd fault and not an equipment fault then.i wouldn't worry unless it starts happening again on dvd's that had played fine.

Na it's not a fault with the DVD, because the sound on all other parts of the DVD is OK (The menu, extras etc.). It's just the actual film where the sound is distorted.

it could still be as the film sound would be mastered at a different point to the menus,and they may only have stereo sound.at the end of the day if other discs play ok and even parts of that disc play ok then the equipment must be working,like i said you should only worry if dvd's that played fine suddenley sound bad,otherwise put it down to a dodgy disc and forget about it
