Absolutely Melanie has found her way to connect to her song choices. The audience seems to be paying close attention to her this season, I think the goal in her performances this season is connection.

She has got a very soft voice (ala Diana Vickers, Janet Devlin) but if she gets through to the live shows (I'll be surprised if she doesn't), I would like for her to be challenged a bit with the themes, but not changing her voice too much.

I wouldn't read any spoilers if I were you.

Her Twitter if anyone's wondering: https://twitter.com/MelanieMcCabe

As I post, Melanie currently has 22,372 followers.
Solid number of followers for this stage.
The main stage acts start gaining followers is Bootcamp onwards.
I also think Melanie could be one of those acts that also have a support base outside of the twitter usual demographic.

I think that Melanie would like a good challenge if she was to get to the live shows, she seems to have a good work ethic.

I found Melanie quite polished before and wished she had got through. However, this year I though she was the best performer so far. I found her quite emotional in that song on Sunday, which sounds quite bland when on the radio!

Melanie was also really charming on the show too.

Of the singers we have seen so far, Melanie has already won my vote!

Who remembers her 2008 audition?

I remember, she was very young then, Simon seemed to like her as did Louis but Cheryl thought the pressure might get to her because of her age.

She seems to be picking songs this season which she has an emotional connection with. She definitely has my vote.

I'm so nervous, a lot of people are saying Melanie's a cert for the lives and in terms of talent I really do think she deserves one of the three places available. But it's just nerve-wracking because there is a lot of talent this year...

I'm nervous too. She really deserves this, I am nervous because of how many no's she has received from the show in the past. Melanie is more determined then ever, hope she really delivers at Bootcamp.

Only a few more weeks till bootcamp.

Currently, this is the busiest appreciation thread of all the acts we've seen so far this year.

Two more weeks of auditions.

Will be keeping this thread active with news throughout Melanie's time on X Factor this season.

Same, it would be downright cruel if she was sent home at Judges Houses for the second time. It's happened to Anastasia Baker in the past, it's really the reason for my anxiety...

I do think if she makes it to the live shows she has the most potential in reaching the finals. The Irish vote will sail her to the finals, but then it's really down to her. But I really want to see her taking risks and maybe develop her performance skills a bit...

John Wilding also made judges houses, my 2nd favorite act never to reach the live shows. Melanie being my favorite to never reach the lives.

She'll definitely make the live shows, mark my words. Featuring her prominently this year and then dumping her would make no sense whatsoever, especially as she was shown on the programme for the last two years.

Think it's time I got on board and joined in. When it's the end of Bootcamp, I am praying Nicole gets the girls cause then Melanie will be in safe hands.

Welcome aboard. Looking forward to Bootcamp. Only two more weeks of auditions to go.

Nicole does seem to like Melanie so if she does get the girls I reckon Melanie will do well with her. But I don't know I'm certain Hannah and Tamera are certs for the lives, the last place will have to go to Melanie considering she is one of the favourites this year and actually oozes talent. I'd be angry if someone who messes up goes through to the lives instead of Mel.

I can't see how Melanie can miss out. If they've no intention of putting her through, I can't imagine why they would have featured her at all this year, including giving her the pimp slot on Saturday night's show.

Room audition now very close to 500,000 views on Youtube. Melanie is now over 300,000 ahead of Relley who has the second most views of the week, so she has a big lead!

Arena audition is at 260,000 views, which is second to Abi, who has 360,000, but she's not that far behind some of the Week 1 auditions. (Sam and Tamera are way out in front, but she's closing in on Hannah for fourth place!)
