Foxsat HDR 3D?

Thinking about getting a new TV, just doing some research first.

If freesat carries 3D programs (I think Wimbledon was, and Olympics might be...) does the Humax HDR just display these?
Or is there need for firmware update or use a particular 3D technology TV?

i think its displays and records them no problem as it is.

Flyer10 is correct. The 3D transmissions are in fact standard as far as the tuner is concerned. They have two full height but 50% squashed horizontally frames transmitted side by side. That's what you see if you view the output on an ordinary TV. The 3D sorts out the frame pair according to whether the TV is an active or passive glasses model.

Here's a single frame from the Wimbledon coverage (doubled in width so each is the correct aspect ratio)
