You see, that's just the sort of derogatory comment that always gets on peoples' wick. Preferring Apple's products doesn't mean you've been "taken in by their marketing".
For instance, I've been a Mac user a very long time. I prefer the way the Mac interface works over other alternatives, always have. So when it came to an MP3 player I bought an iPod, mostly because everything else at the time was hell-bent on adopting DRMd WMA which Microsoft were refusing to release on anything other than Windows. The iPod worked best with my Mac, so that's what I bought.
I bought an iPhone 3Gs eventually because my iPod needed replacing and I was used to iTunes and happy to carry on using it. DRM was thankfully gone by that point so I could have moved, but chose not to. My next phone will also be an iPhone.
This, to many people, marks me out as an Apple fanboy or iSheep. In reality I simply can't be bothered to battle with my personal tech stuff when there's an option, albeit a more expensive one, that means I don't have to. To me I'd rather just pay the extra and get on with life.
