I'm no expert but my analogy would be that when watching tennis I don't need to stare at a player's racquet head and measure its angle and speed; I can tell from the ball's trajectory and where it landed what the player did wrong.
But in order to correct it, I would have to give advice in terms of racquet position etc, because saying "you keep hitting the ball out" isn't helpful, but "you need to angle the racquet to get more top-spin" is.

Yes, I agree with you AlexR. Good analogy.

Last month Yulia sensationally beat Joanna at the RAH, first time ever in England. Actually Joanna beat Yulia 39-34 on 1st Places awarded by 16 judges. However Joanna also received eight 4th's, two 5th's, and one 6th (Yulia was never marked lower than 3rd), so on 1st-to-6th ggregate Yulia and Riccardo won .

Below are clips from the Final. The angle was too acute, as if filmed from the Upper Circle. Colour fidelity looked washed out, almost black-and-white. Spotlight and shadow added to distraction -- these dancers were incandescent stars who needed no spotlight. Sound quality was poor. Wide-angle shots rather than closeups did cover the entire floor showing all 6 couples, but the result was like watching a dance comp on the moon through a telescope, rather like Strictly in Wembley? .

To those who attended (I didn't fly over) how was it for you? * Becca * had a fab time in privileged front row .

Always nice to see Sergey and Melia take more firsts in Paso than the overall winners of the whole competition!

European in Sofia was actually the most exciting night of my life where marks are concerned! Michael and Joanna clung on to the title by one mark in one dance. Michael and Joanna took Cha Cha, Samba and Rumba, and Sergey and Melia took Paso and Jive. If only the Russian judge, Sergey Ryupin (who marked Sergey and Melia to win overall) had just given them first place in Samba, Michael and Joanna would have lost the title and Sergey and Melia would be brand new European Champions right now. Exciting times!
