It will be as addictive as any other US soap I imagine.

Maybe when SB comes to the end of its run we will get Passions, mind you thats three years away.

I wish ITV2 would put something on, but they don't spend any money on shows they just show whats already been on ITV1.

They actually had a Princess Diana plot the first episode!
Character Sheridan Crane we are told was friends with Diana and they actually show a flashback to her talking to Diana over the phone on the day the princess was killed. Its actually rather sweet and respectful although some people were obviously outraged they were using a real tragedy in the soap. There's a cheesy montage of Sheridan walking to a Diana shrine in Paris over the Elton John song and saying "Oh Diana, why did you have to die?". I guess thats why Channel 5 never picked it up.
But the whole show is hilarious and absolutely INSANE.Juliet Mills plays a witch and Kathleen Noone who was Bette in Sunset Beach plays a totally different character - a hardcore bible Carrie like mother who is hideous but hilarious! One of the contrast Passions cast members is actually a MONKEY.
Look at this SoapTalk interview with Kathleen Noone on Passions, they show a clip of her as Edna Wallace. Her daughter Beth gives her one heck of a slap!

I know!! ITV2 are so bloody cheap! Why don't they just invest in some new programming!? But a soap which will only be shown on ITV2, that would be good.

But remember, most folk thought SB was pretty bad, but not its fans.

PASSIONS also gets higher ratings than SB got, and it now is broadcast in SB's old time slot, 2pm.

Of cource, i would have prfered SB not to have been axed, BUT ITS GONE NOW, and we fans should move on to somthing else.

Also, i think five should have bought PASSIONS instead of repeating SB, cos it would have cost them them the same price to buy it.

i absolutely agree. Passions is just as much fun by all accounts, and goes places even SuBe never would dream of going!!! I am dying to see Theresa masquerading as her rival Gwen, getting pregnant by Gwen's husband Ethan and then getting pregnant AGAIN with Gwen & Ethan's embryos, thereby having two babies by the same guy but with different mothers!!! Theresa actually stole Gwen and Ethan's embroys from the surrogate mother (after drugging her) and did it all to get her baby boy by Ethan, little Ethan back. But now she's told her mother Pilar she has NO INTENTION of giving ANY of the babies back to Gwen!!! As Gwen's brassy mother Rebecca so eloquently put it, she won't stand for her grandchild "riding around in Theresa with some hitchhiker!"
This insanity sounds totally unmissable.

I have seen a couple of Passions episodes, and sadly to say, i found them quite boring. The supernatural elements is fresh, but things are moving way to slooowly. I have heard rumors of that not a single storyline has been solved over its entire run (4 years).

Yeah, the shows actually been going for five years now and its only just recently that one of the major storylines (The Kay/Miguel/Charity love triangle) has finished.

The fact is the storylines have run for so long now that they are starting to repeat themselves...for example, Sheridan has been presumed dead twice now, Theresa's on her second pregnancy storyline involving questionable paternities etc.Ok, the very nature of a soap opera is that the same things eventually happen over and over again, but even so its a bit much. Plus the fact that the show is basically centred around love triangles and quadrangles means that there isn't that much variety.

Although a recent effort has been made to wrap up several storylnes and introduce some new ones. I guess every soap goes through an uncreative patch every few years and there can be no denying that when Passions first came out, it was very creative.
