What the hell was Katy Perry doing or who ever wrote the lyric to Firework:

'do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again.'

This, I also remember Jeremy Clarksons hilarious view of this sort of stuff on Radio 1

I'm not trying to be funny, but you can smell like you sound.
I'll give an example: You could sound like shit, you could also smell like shit! Or you could sound lovely, you could also smell lovely...

"Like a G6"......either the G8 has shed two members (poss UK + 1 other) or it makes no sense.

Scouting For Girls and Lady Gaga everytime, rise of the idiots indeed. Those dimwits need to get over the fact that they're no longer 16 year old boys but rather the paunchy 30 odd year old dimwit man-children. Gaga, her lyrics and singing simply tell me that she hasn't grown out of her addiction for skittles or smarties. Like a hyperactive spoilt 2 year old singing into the microphone that makes the family giggle a bit at christmas.

I concur with most the modern stuff posted in here, as goes without saying as it's so self-evidently execrable.

What I personally have a bit of an allergy to is references to 'making love' in songs (and in general). No amount of verbal prettification can disguise the act of a pork sword sloppily, sweatily and noisily thrusting in and out of an orifice as being anything more than the primal instinctive behaviour that it is! Has dinted many an otherwise good tune for me over the years.

Thanks for clearing up the like a G6 thing.

I think nowadays, it's all a money making exercise. Granted songs in the 60s - 90s had dodgy lyrics, but now it's mainly nursery rhyme material.

A possible #1 for next week, and how this passes as a song gets me:

That is a G4. There is no such thing as a G6. The reason they called it "like a G6" was that it was more fly than a G4. Geniuses

Lady Gaga fills too much of her songs with oooohs and magagas than most other artists.

Clearly most of you aren't aware that Like a G6 is about taking drugs.

When rappers want to do songs about drugs, they have to use metaphors, analogies, etc. or else the songs won't get played on the radio, too much controversy, etc. There's been a few other recent chart hits about drugs aswell.

Wolf sounds powerful and strong don't they? So if he's a wolf, he smells (as in the verb "to smell", not his scent) strongly and powerful as well.

I'm really glad it didn't take too long for someone to mention her.

Even if her songs are meant to be poking fun at themselves a bit, the lyrics are still offensively bad.

Superdrug are using the song in their adverts - which seem to be on ALL THE TIME - at the moment.

It's one of my absolute most hated songs of all time. Ever. I think Scouting For Girls in general are an abortion stain of the floor of the music world...along with the Black Eyed Peas, The Wanted, One Direction, and JLS.
