In theory he needed to be in the US putting The X Factor together although given how rushed and poorly The X Factor US was put together I'm not entirely sure what he was doing.
Quote:
Of course depressingly a Simon/Amanda/Cheryl panel would probably give the production team and ITV everything they want. After everything that happened with X Factor US the press would go into meltdown at the thought of Cowell and Cheryl on the same show again. And Holden will be able to do the whole new baby thing as part of the promotion for the show.
If they have any chance of getting Cheryl back, I think they'll have to bill her as Simon's replacement and have him leave altogether. Plus, I doubt the budget would stretch to paying them both! It'll potentially be announced in January, so there's plenty of time yet to sort something out. |

Wowee for TAAHM on Nine, that's must be their second or third to crack 2m. Kind of a shame TAAHM never took off over here although I suspect it'll do very well for Comedy Central.
Rafters held up surprisenly well, the Roast did decent as well. |

Comedy Central must be licking their lips by now. When does it land here?
Nine did very well to fast-track it to that extent. Seven held up surprisingly good. |

Same for Ashton Kutcher, seriously what is he famous for? Comedy Central will not see record ratings for 2.5 Men, as no on watched it in the first place. Looking at BARB, makes for interesting reading Quote:
Comedy Central 1 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (WED 2101) 176 2 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (SUN 2059) 152 3 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (THU 2103) 133 4 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (MON 2104) 121 5 SOUTH PARK (THU 2201) 118 6 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (TUE 2101) 115 7 SCRUBS (THU 1703) 108 8 SOUTH PARK (FRI 2229) 106 9 SOUTH PARK (WED 2200) 104 10 SCRUBS (MON 1632) 103 Quote:
Comedy Central +1 hard to know what it rates on Comedy Central, but it would be a damm miracle if it rated 200,000
1 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (FRI 2159) 77 2 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (WED 2201) 67 3 TWO AND A HALF MEN (TUE 1430) 58 4 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (MON 2204) 55 5 TWO AND A HALF MEN (WED 2137) 53 6 LIVE AT THE APOLLO (TUE 2201) 51 7 TWO AND A HALF MEN (MON 1637) 50 8 TWO AND A HALF MEN (SUN 1200) 46 9 TWO AND A HALF MEN (THU 1931) 44 10 TWO AND A HALF MEN (THU 1642) 41 |

What does it usually rate, over a million is unlikely but I think 0.7-0.9m is a possibilty.
I think it aired last night if Digiguide is correct. If it follows the same pattern as other countries that looks like a good ballpark figure you've outlined there. Between this and Friends, should be a strong autumn for Comedy Central. |

The last season opener pulled in 433,000 in February.

With The Hotel Inspector airing on Mondays, wonder if Paul Merton's Great Escapes will be held back until Big Brother is done in November or possibly January as 9pm weekdays is chock a block at the moment. Extraordinary People and Nature Shock on Thursday will work as they are standalone films and so will not be affected by the football. The only other option is Sundays but I imagine they dont want it to face Downton Abbey and whatever is on BBC One. |

Theoretically since both The Hotel Inspector and Paul Merton's Great Escapes are 6 episodes each, they could fit both in on Mondays between now and Christmas.

Nine did very well to fast-track it to that extent. Seven held up surprisingly good. But they didn't really promote it that much. I watch quite a lot of CC (Frasier/Scrubs/TAAHM reruns) and I've seen far more promotion for Mike & Molly. The series returns proper on October 10th. So they'll probably run through to mid December then take a break until March/April. Quote:

Even if Friends "only" does about 150k-200k for them, it'll be a massive boost to that 8pm hour. But they still seem to be at the bottom of the pile when it comes to new US comedy acquisitions. It's definitely a channel that could be doing a lot better than it is, IMO. It just needs a bit more investment. On similar topic, just watched 2 Broke Girls and I think it has potential. The leads are very good, some snappy writing in the pilot and it was well paced but I'm not sure about the supporting cast (although that's easier to work on). Rather surprised to hear the line "you're getting me wet" in a CBS comedy that is intended for the 8.30pm/7.30pm timeslot!

Paul Merton airing in November would mean it would avoid Doc Martin and I imagine it has a loyal enough following to take on IAC. |

New Girl premieres tonight and FOX is desperate to get a Tuesday Night comedy block going as does ABC. With CBS on Mondays and Thursdays, ABC on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, NBC on Wednesday and Thursday and FOX on Tuesday and Sundays with comedy blocks, comedy seems to have a comeback in a big way! |

They aired the premiere as a "sneak peak" last night followed by new Mike & Molly and then the Roast from 10pm.

If they wanted to carry on WTD but Trevor Eve didn't, they should have just carried on without him - perhaps with Keith Allen, whom it has to be said is this series' main asset. (Along with Rosa, who's a bit hot...) |
