Pending officials, it's not that good for the WTD successor series, really. I watched again last night. I was perhaps too harsh last week but I just don't get the premise of this show at all.

If they wanted to carry on WTD but Trevor Eve didn't, they should have just carried on without him - perhaps with Keith Allen, whom it has to be said is this series' main asset. (Along with Rosa, who's a bit hot...)
As I understood it they cancelled WTD because it was too costly. It wouldnt have worked without Trevor Eve anyway as he was the show.

I have watched The Body Farm and enjoy it but it isn't really linked to WTD in any way except for Eve Lockheart being in both- they didnt really introduce The Body Farm and what it was all about.

17:30 Neighbours: 1.30m (8.2%)
Excellent for Neighbours yesterday, reaching over 2m viewers across the day. Honestly can't remember the last time the teatime hit 1.3, anyone know?
Highest Neighbours 17:30 rating since June 13th when it had 1.34m (10.2%).

I think the Body Farm will tottle along doing 'ok'. People like police/foresnic drama's, and it has enough of a carry over from Waking the dead.

It's however not going to get to the original WtD, or Silent Witness levels though.

they shouldn't, no one watches the show here, and most people have greeted the news about Charlie Sheen with a look of bewilderment wondering who the hell he is, and why we should care.

hard to know what it rates on Comedy Central, but it would be a damm miracle if it rated 200,000

An interesting note on Channel 5 last night: it seems dropping the CSI repeats from 11pm to 1am and switching to young-skewing film repeats paid off. Note their share of the 16-34 demographic stayed strong coming out of Big Brother with Ali G Indahouse providing the laughs:

10pm: 12.42%
11pm: 10.60%
12am: 9.5%

Channel 5 average 16-34 share for yesterday: 4.2%.

I doubt it. The show has always exploited contestants in this way. It's sickening, but if viewers cared they'd have switched off already.

Globally Two and a Half Men has been huge then. Of course the problem for everyone who broadcasts the show is that its not going to sustain these levels and in fact the reaction to the first Kutcher episode hasn't been particularly good (although reaction to the first Sheen episodes wasn't good and it was still a big success). Its going to be interesting to track how far and how fast Two and a Half Men falls from here on out.

Otherwise not the most exciting night of television last night.

The Body Farm is doing ok. Its hard to think the BBC would have expected much more from it.

I almost want to describe ITV's line-up as doing well despite the obvious insanity of saying those numbers are doing well. But that's remarkably stable for what appear to be two cheap fillers in what has proven to be an incredibly difficult slot for them as of late. Could we possibly be seeing another series of both? ITV can (and have) done worse.

When is Doctor Who Confidential showing on finale night? If it's straight after the finale that might take some viewers away from Merlin. Not everyone has a PVR.
Sorry if this has already been posted.

I doubt it, the X Factor lives and breathes off publicity good and bad. People who dislike people being taken advantage of would have switched off a few years ago IMO.

Excellent rating for Comedy Central, Two and a Half Men never took off in the UK and Sheen to many is unknown, Very good.

ITV had another very poor Tuesday night. I dont know why they recommisioned 71DN it had bad ratings last time, and it has another 6 weeks to go.

Can we all have a moment of prayer for ITV Studios sales team at MIPCOM?

According to the article below, the formats they're trying to shift are Red or Black, Holding Out For A Hero and Born To Shine.

Source (Marc Berman): http://www.tvmediainsights.com/forum...wtopic&t=261.8

According to some early overnights, New Girl and Unforgettable showed some promise with a solid debut. FOX's New Girl started off with 7.4/11, building from Glee's 6.6/10. CBS' Unforgettable at 10pm received 9.3/16, whilst Body of Proof's sophomore season on ABC launched with a 6.9/12. Ringer on The CW lost 28% from last week (from 2.5/4 to 1.8/3).

Glee down 22% in households from last year. Likely to be in the mid 4's and ~10m viewers from my predictions (which at this stage, may not be remotely accurate!).

With no recent history to go on for New Girl, it's hard to say what numbers will come out at 5pm but they should be good anyway. Mixed reviews for the premiere (2 Broke Girls getting better feedback) so I'd imagine that it'll dip below Glee in the coming weeks even if it beat it last night in A18-49.

Looks like a solid start for Unforgettable as well.

Oh dear.

Although to be fair Holding Out For A Hero and Born To Shine aren't horrifically bad formats. Maybe not big prime time entertainment extravaganzas but they're workable. With a little tweaking I imagine Holding Out For A Hero could work quite nicely as a daytime format for example.

Source (Marc Berman)...
Unrelated but Marc Berman is awful.

OMG, is this yet another example of a show past its peak going to Sky?

"Holding Out for a Hero, which launched on ITV1 last week (and was the most successful debut for a Sunday night entertainment series this year)"

They must have spun that more than the biggest spinners can.

Yeah its pretty much impossible to convert household shares, early or otherwise, into anything meaningful or particularly accurate outside of the obviously large and tiny (but even then it can be iffy in regards to demos).

Also as a word of warning the household shares won't match up vs. last year anyway because the numbers behind them have changed and not insignificantly.

For anyone wondering, Doc Martin's first episode had an AI of 90, Downton Abbey's first episode had an AI of 92, the latter's AI is extremely high for a drama.

Because apparently three Gordon Ramsey shows just aren't enough Fox have ordered a fourth, Hotel Hell. Essentially its Kitchen Nightmares with hotels rather than restaurants.

http://www.deadline.com/2011/09/quad...gordon-ramsay/

How long before it lands in the UK?
