Only just noticed that awesome rise for Gok last night. Looks like ITV did Channel 4 a big favour at 8pm and I could see Gok inching ahead of Jeremy next week.

ITV Press Centre now has Family Fortunes at 6:30pm and Ross at 9:55pm on October 22nd, so the schedule seems to have been pushed back half an hour so TXF will be on 8-9:55pm unless anything changes.

The same Big Brother that gave them their highest audience share of the night?
And someones just said that CSI Miami has fallen 30% year on year so I take back my original statement. I didn't realise it was capable of a lot more. |

That doesn't mean it did well of it's own accord, just In relation to the rest of the night.
![]() You might as well say Emmerdale dragged down ITV1 last night.

Oh dear. Ouch for High Stakes...that really tanked. Quite shocking to see that ITV1 is only getting 2 million in primetime on Tuesdays. What a far cry for the dominance that ITV used to have on Tuesday nights in the 90's with Soldier, Soldier and Peak Practice IIRC. Solid for Emmerdale though.
One more year until the football moves back. Will the problems spread to Wednesday is the big question? |

ITV having to move TXF out of the way of Strictly in order to shore up the ratings! ![]() Bit of a turnaround isn't it? |

how does an ITV show start at 2.2 million? I mean come on this is ITV, it should get at least 3 million, provided its not airing something the public have judged rubbish and not worth watching, and yet High Stakes doesn't even manage that.
71 Degrees has gone from "ok" (and only ok mind) last series to total flop this year, same could be said for That Sunday Night Show. Mayday Mayday at least has the excuse its airing opposite EastEnders, but I still feel it should have had RNLI in the title. Looking ahead it has the same line up for the next two weeks (if not more) where on earth is it going to be then? I know ive said before, if you bought an American network head into run ITV, he may not get Corrie of Emmerdale, but he would see they were popular, but then he would look at the shows after it, and ask why they are not retaining the audience better. RobbieSykes123 This might just be me seeing what I want to see, but it does seem that the shine has stated to come off of X-Factor, but still its ratings are still massive, its hardly gone into free fall. Strictly has always been a solid performer, it just doesn't get credit for it, as it doesn't self promoted in quite the same way X-Factor does. |

Well Corrie should go some way to solving that problem.

This thread is funny sometimes, everyone has a memory that only lasts 6 days. So every Tuesday we get the same "I'm really surprised ITV only got 2m tonight" and then the same debate, even though it happens every single week for years.
Why ITV rates so low on Tuesdays I'm not sure, but it's hardly a big suprise some are making out. |

using Corrie to prop up a night, seems like short term thinking, no disrespect to Corrie, but ITV needs to be able to create something that does not need Corrie to prop it up.

One can only assume that Jeremy Kyle is prime time poison.

Corrie had been on Wednesday nights since it started over 50 years ago. It was a big mistake moving it in the first place, it's now being returned to its rightful place.

I'd love to know the executive who thought the presenter of a low brow chav TV program would be suitable game host material. I mean he always has this 'hostile' streak about him. There is nothing personable about him. The executive who approved Jeremy Kyle for High Stakes should be shot. I'm glad of the decision though. It might take Jeremy down a peg or two. |

I actually have a further question, does Jeremy Kyle care? he is busy selling his main show to the states, I would guess this is the last thing on his mind right now. Heck even ITV wont be to disappointed to see this flop, could Kyle really have done all 3 shows if this had been a hit?

Assuming High Stakes is only 6 parts, he probably recorded it in a day or two. Hardly a massive undertaking.

fair enough. Still if I was him, (and like Simon Cowell) I would be focusing my efforts on my US show, not worrying about a game show I probably already know is a dud.

The US talk show (and possibly the UK version) is recorded 'in bulk'. That's generally the way US daytime television works. It keeps the costs down. A years worth of Judge Judy for example is shot in the space of about 4 days. I suspect most of if not all of Kyle's US shows for the season are already in the can. Quote:

Hi everyone! Been off travelling for a while, but I'm back.
Such a lot to comment on, but I'll keep it brief. Doc Martin & Downton are as solid as ever for ITV and it's great to have them both airing in the same year. Billy Connolly also seems to have done well on Thursdays and their schedule is actually pretty good atm. The only problem is the XF/SCD clash. I thought DCI Banks would perform better on Fridays, as drama used to work there, but it's not done as well as expected. Tuesdays are horrendous. 71 Degrees should be doing better and everything just keeps getting lower and lower. Regular football can't come soon enough. The soaps are plodding along, but with some average figures imo. Corrie should be a tad higher. Personally I hope Emmerdale's ratings start decreasing, just so ITV take note of how awful the show is right now. I've given it ~8 months, but I've finally turned off. Absolutely nothing is interesting me and some of the future spoilers look diabolical. Slightly disappointing that the XF is starting to slow down momentum, but I thought the twist at the weekend was bizarre and not needed at all. The whole results show felt pointless, when the judges would have already known who they would vote off, and it backfired considering how many strong girls and boys there are and both Gary & Kelly could have been left with 4 acts till midway through the competition. Just seen TV Burp too-still providing a few laughs, but not as many as before. It'll be a shame if it ends, but if it does I'd love to see Harry on BGT. BB has finally stabilised, but at quite a low level. It's still performing better than most other things on Ch5 I guess. After a strong start to the Autumn, everything seems to be struggling. The 8pm slot is producing some dire figures, Hotel Inspector (which I wasn't expecting to return yet) is pulling in half the audience it should be & Miami is down. I think HI should have been left till next year. The thing is that Ch5 would be airing at least one weeknight movie, but BB is stopping this and they're having to dig up all the strong factual they have. |
