”
True Blood sadly following the pattern of many HBO shows on C4, though frustratingly the ratings have justified it, and I suspect the secondary rights deal with FX prevents them bumping it to a better slot on E4 or C4.
And didn't even realise C5 still showed Grey's Anatomy - 4.15am is stupid. Surely they could stick it in daytime or something.

With Shameless, their only returning drama series, faring poorly this series, C4 really need new dramas coming through getting closer to the 2m mark. They've failed to do that so far this year with shows like Sirens and the initial signs aren't good for this one either. This is England did really well last year but IIRC that's only returning for something like 1-3 episodes, they need something with 6-8 episodes rating at that sort of level.”
This is England '88 is now up to three episodes, and I think This is England '90 is all but confirmed - but Shane Meadows seems to be keeping complete control of it so I think it'll be 4 episodes at most rather than expanding into a series length drama.
Fresh Meat - better than Sirens on first impressions but agree C4 needs to be finding dramas hitting 2m at 10pm, though at least they've tried this year. Are Sirens and Fresh Meat the first potentially returning drama series on C4 itself since Goldplated back in 2006?
C4 also have Black Mirror, which is essentially three separate stories, later in the Autumn.

Well ITV could easily have justified axing it here after series 1. I do think it'll grow, but maybe not as much as people suspect, and although I always thought there was a risk of the show flopping stateside, I think Fox might stick with it for a second season to keep hold of Cowell. If they don't Louis Walsh should be worried as I suspect it'll be him rather than Gary Barlow losing his seat.

Well This is England '88 is set at Christmas, although it doesn't sound full of festive cheer.
Renowned filmmaker Shane Meadows follows up the explosive award-winning This Is England '86 with three new one-hour films.
Meadows picks up the action in the Christmas of 1988 as Lol struggles to cope with life as a single mother. Haunted by the devastating events that took place 18 months previously, she finds her reserves of strength ebbing away. With her soul mate Woody heartbroken from her betrayal and in self imposed exile from the gang, Lol also becomes increasingly isolated and alone.
They say Christmas is a time for forgiving and for forgetting, a time of love and laughter and joy ever after. But when all hope seems lost, what peace is there to be found? This is Christmas. This is England.
Hopefully now it's a 3-parter rather than a one-off it'll get the Tuesday night slot for three weeks rather than just air over three nights.

Tonight, Matthew, I am going to be (a), (b) or (c) might not work as well as a catchphrase.”
ITV have long since killed off Stars in their Eyes - and I believe it was death by celebrity as I'm sure for it's final few years (with Cat Deeley?) it was just celeb specials.

Surely showing auditions from another city first where the new panel was in attendance and Steve was presenting by himself would have made more sense? They could have just shown the LA/Chicago auditions (with Cheryl making a cameo appearance) later on in the series.”
Have to agree - only watched the first part or two on ITV2 earlier and it felt so flat and you could tell it's a show that is seven years old, not brand new. And as annoying as he is their intro needed a Peter Dickson style voiceover to acompany the intro too.

They might as well just repeat this years - it'll probably be the same winners anyway.

I suspect Charlies Angels might lower that bar tonight.

I don't think TXF USA will do that well considering it's had a very soft launch on ITV2. Glee is an interesting one - no reason really why it can't top 1m considering it could get double that on E4 - but after the reaction to season 2 I wonder if people will be that interested in it to follow it to a new channel on a new night.
P.S. This has probably been discussed before but is ITV's Titanic drama next year a stripped across a week affair as I notice that is how Seven are showing it next April.
