I see OK! TV has drastically improved in the ratings with the new presenters. Does anyone know how well Steps Reunion did on Sky Living last night?

I don't buy the premise that just because it's unseasonably mild outside, people will partake in outdoor activities in the dark.

Sure, there were some people sat outside the pub when I arrived home last night, but it was nearly empty inside. I can't imagine millions of people suddenly went for walks or dined al fresco just because it was a weirdly sticky autumn night.

Just picked up on the news that the Beeb have held firm on Strictly - and added a bonus 5 minutes too.

Probably to give Sir Brucie time to hand out his ratings sheets, metaphorically speaking.

Good on 'em anyway for not showing the constitution of a jellyfish and moving it to 5.30 or 5.45.

I do think SCD has more chance of beating TXF in a 15 minute clash than a 35 minute one though. I suspect casuals will more likely drift if there's still a good half hour of SCD to go. I would expect SCD to lead for the first half of the clash, but TXF to build before taking the lead late on.

But it should be an interesting little contest... (more so than the dancing or karaokeing probably!)

cant work out why Planet Dinosaur is failing

They might have gone to places away from home like the seaside, watched the sunset and then it takes a couple of hours to get back and so didn't watch any TV.

Because we "did" walking with the dinosaurs 10 years ago, in massive numbers?

According to the programme we know more in the last 10 years about dinosaurs than everything in the last 150 years so all thos people who watched Walking with Dinosaurs and not this are missing out.

Yes, I can see your point.
But 10 years is a long time in TV land.

Children of 6, 8, 10 probably didn't watch Walking with Dinosaurs. They would be 16, 18 and 20 now - and to them this would be very new.

Also, there have been many new discoveries of different species of dinosaur in the past 10 years which is all new obviously. I think this has been an excellent series from the BBC.

They were a guilty pleasure back in the 90s but Im not a fan as such. I am watching their reunion show though and forgot how beautiful Claire's voice was, she is such a talented singer.

And they may very well be making up a large proportion of PD's smallish audience.

That aside, I think the Beeb milked the WWD phenomenon a bit much with various spin offs, all of which attracted gradually diminishing audiences for what became increasingly laboured guessing games in the style of an Attenborough doc.

PD continues that trend. I suspect the dinosaur doc may become extinct after this series...

All that said, a Wednesday 8.30 slot can't be helping.

Faye and Claire have good voices, Claire's being much better of course.

H was there for his personality

Lee was there for his looks

I can see why ratings are lower the heat was unpleasant. Just imagine how many people have patios to sit out on drinking cold beverages. There were no Soaps after Emmerdale and who is going to dash into a warm lounge to watch CGI Dinosaurs v Chelski. We went to the pub and it was 80% full and it felt a lot more airy and somewhat cooler - with cold drinks on tap.

I watched BB on delay when I got home and will catch WDYTYA on iPlayerHD.

Lately a good song?

I think her voice is terribly weak myself in a Cheryl Cole kinda way.

It charted in the top 10, and a lot of people I know like it - even those that don't like her.

OKey-doke, a Steps discussion, maybe the lowest point of the Ratings thread in 25 editions.

They were rubbish, BTW, Scooch may be the only rival in awfulness.

Don't you mean a HIGH point? And Scooch - yes they were awfully good!

Didn't she get so desperate with her solo pop career on her reality show "Totally Scott-Lee" that she released a single that had to make the Top 10 or she'd quit music?

I find her desperate myself, she isn't that talented and was also more in the band for just her looks.
