I am just about OK on this dark evening. I just wish we'd get the rain instead of just a promise of it.

Found out that I am getting our sofa reupholstered for my Xmas present - original thought but I'm not sure this is what I really want.

I'm having a major clearout. Want to get rid of everything I can before the Council restrict us to one bag of rubbish a week. My neighbour has been making continuous trips to the tip for over three days.

Well, off to start dinner. Made a vegetable gratin and we have some chicken left over so that's us sorted.

people are saying elsewhere, that this tweet refers somehow to domestic violence... and therefore that it is a direct dig towards Josie. about violence???...

im sorry, I dont agree, I agree that its enigmatic and difficult to read, but to me it doesnt say anything at all about domestic violence.

its surely about living your life in the way that you want to live your life....and not caring what anyone else thinks....


by saying that it does imply that he is looking down on those who dont choose to stand up to be counted......

so to me it was a tweet that was written and intended to be a dig at some people, not just a meaningless tweet. and that kind of fits with his other statements.
but then I never really saw John as completely docile and do think he did/does say things to deliberately provoke....


but surely we need to be careful not to go overboard and read far too much into it....?

I was desperately looking in my planner for something entertaining to watch on tv....
and realised I still had a copy of the last episode of TSAJ.

So I watched the first part again., or at least 15 minutes of it.... and with hindsight and a bit of time since last watching it.......its very interesting to watch....

with all this talk of John saying things and being misinterpreted.....and even when he does say something clearly, it is still misinterpreted.....

cos in it, John is actually very clear and honest..and pretty direct.....
he said calmly on more than one occasion that he had had enough of the cylical rows, where they would have a row and make it up...and then have another row and make up again etc.....and he was intending on going home for good.

he did say that there was a slight chance if things could change...for them to stay together... But said something along the lines that it wasnt sustainable for either of them to continue in the way that they were continuing......

I did sort of think that Josie pushed him away and that it was more her fault, and to an extent I still do,
but I hadnt realised before rewatching TSAJ, quite how determined he was to leave.....and that he had no intention of staying and making up....

im not blaming him at all...I can imagine the JJJ relationship being almost impossible to cope with.....

but John is a strong and dominant person., and someone who is extremely stubborn... Id imagine he is someone who can suppress his feelings and operate on a sensible and logical level ...rather than just on an emotional level.

My husband is like that with me at times....he gets all sensible and rational....and I get so cross and frustrated with him....cos if he is in a stubborn mood I cannot budge him.... and I end up being the one who has to conceed.

Just a little addendum before I turn off the laptop......an update about our tree

We have a very lively cat who kept breaking baubles and even knocking the tree over last year, so hubby felt we could manage without one (a tree, not a cat ). After hysterical laughter in the garden centre today, we came back with a large poinsettia to take the part of 'a tree' - but the more I thought about it, the less I could imagine us all eating our turkey sandwiches and mince pies, sampling our whiskey and watching Downton Abbey on Christmas Day, with a......pot plant

So finally.....tonight I have ordered an artificial tree from a website......it looks okay.....I just hope it is.......otherwise everyone will be disappointed.... :yawn:

It will naturally be supplemented with lots of real holly (plentiful berries this year) and my trusty Advent wreath (still hanging on in there )
