I remember that e-mail being brought up - I can't remember when it was but I know it was only a few days after he returned to Oz because that was when we found out they had split up rather than being on a break!

The issue for me is even mentioning John at all.This relationship ended 6 months ago,there is a new person and wedding.Do we need anymore John James tweeted by Daily Mail pictures?

My take on it is that Josie had just left the house and John was waiting to see if the relationship would work before commiting to saying they were bf/gf. He must have felt so much pressure to say she was his girlfriend - if they were trying to fool us I'm sure he would have just said yes straight away.
I'm sure they were in a sexual relationship, at least at first. I don't think there was ever a cynical attempt to fool us, more likely just a realisation that they were not suited after all.

At the time I honestly thought it was a bit of a silly question to ask, are you boyfriend and girlfriend? eh are you 8? (Davina I mean)
Of course they weren't boyfriend and girlfriend yet, they had spent little or no time together outside the house.
I still remember how happy he seemed to begin with, and the way he seemed besotted, but it wore off I guess, that happens.

I think he thought he was and at some point they talked about marriage and stuff when everything was all sparkly and new
By January no I don't think there was much left in it except a hefty dose of bitterness from both sides

I have an feeling that the references about the wedding are actually meant to be a joke.....
Josie was asked in the OK article if they had had sex yet, and Josie replied probably tounge in cheek that of course they hadnt, cos they needed to be married first, and then finished the joke by saying in the article that they would be getting married next week....

They were still living together, working together and in each others pockets until March, I think they invested a lot in each other and the whole thing was falling apart. It must have been like a pressure cooker. So sure there would be residule bitterness and hurt, that's the complexity of any broken relationship

yes I do believe that they were in love with each other, and I think both of them were in love last summer.....with a lovely romantic summer romance that could have gone anywhere......
but I think by christmas there were massive cracks in their relationship, John especially was starting to realise that the Josie he fell in love with, wasnt the same person in real life,
Im sure there was a side to Josie that John loved very much, but there was another side if her that he didnt know how to cope with, and im pretty sure he didnt know how to cope with or deal with some of the trappings of fame, and living life as a zlist celebrity....
The trouble with declarations of love is that they can mean different things to different people at different times....
if you want to go down the route of asking about how much of their lives was fake or real...it starts to get so difficult, cos so many of the later OK articles were so set up and so divorced from any kind of reality....
think of that big fat gypsy style OK wedding article which was so strange. and so so fake.....or that Peter and Katie one? Or even the birthday party a couple of months after Josie's actual birthday.....

Going from his tweets i thought he felt he'd been used. Plus he was the one that was dumped. But who knows really only John and Josie know the real truth.

I've always felt that he loved her emotionally and deeply in the house but not in a sexual way and they is why he was confused and wanted to wait. I believed the declarations of love were true in the first few articles but one or two were a bit forced ie. the Big Fat Gypsy Wedding one where John seemed out of place and uncomfortable.
I don't know what to say about January. I'm afraid I have a feeling that the relationship was on the rocks by then but John was persuaded back to give it one last try. I wasn't at the flower show but I've heard stories about her being locked out of their room and also the Gloryfest incident when he was sick and she left him so she could drink downstairs. Doesn't sound like loves young dream to me. In answer to your question about Josie - I don't hold much score by what she says tbh. I think her mask slipped when she tweeted about JJ teaching John some moves.

It does make you think doesnt it. Especially when people were told at the birthday party Johns plane back to Oz was already booked.
