England have now lost the rugby - and the football was fairly bad last night too, with Rooney being red-carded. Furthermore, there is almost no footie on Sky this weekend due to the 'international break' Think I'll resort to a DVD - 'The Damned United', which is at least about football.

I'd love to come online to a tweet saying Hi, I'm really doing well, I've opened my own garage/decided to go to Uni/taken up flower pressing (ok, I know, that's a bit of a leap ) even if it was by way of a goodbye, just to let us imagine a bit of what's going on in his life and know he's well (first-hand).

Hi Ali, and anyone else here, what's your take on why we don't get anything like this?

I regard John as a caring person who would not deliberately 'lead his fans on'. He knows he does have fans, judging by his own brief 'thank you for your support' tweets, and by the occasional communications from his mates. So........why is he leaving us high and dry?

Could be because he definitely doesn't want any kind of life in the public eye - but I think this is an insufficient explanation, because, if it were totally true, he would have deleted his Twitter account.......

Could be a ploy to build up suspense pending his return to the scene - again unlikely, because of his basic personality - also if this were the case, I think he'd have been more involved with things like ML Denim, just to keep his name known

Could be trying to protect a new relationship, that would make more sense

Or......he is unwell and doesn't want to say so. I really hope it isn't this. John has an amazing capacity to inspire me to be concerned for him , even after all this time

The Aaron and Faye relationship will be more meaningful with the sister around,they are kissing behind her back and now Aaron has had a chat with her about it

Dont you think the BBUK experience is now part of that life especially as he travelled to get it.Not that he owes us anything as we can move on but at least put a closure.

I seriously believe John cant lead fans on.Complete silence is unexplained though.Most likely he is sorting a relationship and if he going to be serious about it,he doesnt need the muckers in his face.In the mean time I can obsess about Aaron while he sorts himself out.

its interesting to think about why John might not be using twitter..

but I wonder if he just isnt that interested, He did at one point try and delete twitter, but found it too complicated to do easily, so he has just left it up.

and he is polite enough to say thank you for all his birthday wishes, but doesnt really have anything else to say, so he isnt saying anything....

who knows? but it is interesting to speculate....

I think if he could,he would have deleted his Twitter long time ago,but i think he'll feel bad if he did,really think it's just out of guilt,so many have supported him,voted for him etc....

Think he's gone back to his old life,he had a taste of the after BB shenninigans,tast of living in the UK,something he was eager to do,but found out that it wasn't meant for him.

His Craig David song said he was walking away and it looks like he has.
Good luck to him whatever he decides to do.
Its up to him what he does about twitter if he deletes or not. I've saw a few people say he should delete if he's not going to use it.
No one has the right to tell him to do that. He might not feel like tweeting now but its there in case he does in future.

No of course not,but at the same time,what's the point in keeping something you ain't using...don't know...

Perhaps he's waiting until it all dies down. Then we hopefully will get the old John back. Twitter really lights up when he comes on. A lot of people miss him on there.
I really dont want him to delete it in case he regrets it. While his twitter is there theres always a chance.:

He can block/ignore,and still be tweeting odd things like he used to,at the start i though taking a break from it all was a smart move at that time.

I think he thinks if he starts tweeting again the hate will start again. Thats why he wouldnt tweet about Mark.

Alot of people have left twitter its not a nice place.

As i said,he could ignore,til they gave it a rest,and find something else to occupy them.

Sorry,here i have to disagree with John,looks he either can't be bothered,or taking the piss tbh.

It's easy to say ignore or block, but he has to read it in the first place to know its abuse he should block or ignore, doesn't he? And it must be hurtful. I don't see how he can avoid reading it if he comes on twitter, regardless of whether he responds to it.

Just perhaps he has walked away. But like you say feels like he will let the fans down if he deletes.

Of course it must be hurtful,but i'd hate to think he doesn't tweet cause of the hate tweets,it's like they have won,as silly as it might sounds.

Who knows ellemay,we can but speculate.

Weekends are always quiet on here......a good sign, I think, that people are doing other things

What does that say about me, though? Sadly I have more time to come on here at the weekend than I do at busier times during the week. Ah well...........
