I thought Hope and Ricki were very overmarked, and I think Chaz was actually undermarked.

Shame Carson went, but he was the worst dancer so it was bound to happen at some point.

Sorry to see Carson leave - he was fabulous fun

Didn't like Ricky's dance; am a bit on the fence with Hope and Maks; JR is a joy; David too intense.

Thought Nancy might go, but happy to still have Tristan

Can't believe Hope got three 8's i thought her Tango was atrocious! Would of given it a 6 personally and Carson a 5!

Really liking Nancy or is that just because i like Tristan ?

JR is my favourite this season

I love David. At first I thought he had a very eccentric personality, which was very endearing....but now discover that he is dyslexic.....and will be having problems with sequencing...and co-ordination, and he has been diagnosed with ADD, so he's doing brilliantly.

I like JR as well, it was Ricki's dress which put me off her dance this week, she looked like a lampshade, and I never got past that to actually watch the dance

I suspect it was her dress that made me concentrate on how bad the singer was, and such a contrast to last week's.

I quite like watching Chaz and while Rob is competent he just doesn't do anything for me - I find myself thinking he must have a fair bit of spare time to practise (and I realise this must be the case or some of the others too)

I do feel that Carson had gone in to "I don't have to learn any dance steps just entertain"-mode and the audience had tired of this.

God only knows what dance he was doing to Wake me Up Before You Go Go!!!

In week 1 he showed a certain charm and ability, as well as being very entertaining - but then threw it all away by thinking he could fall back on just messing about!

Vids are up on the Blue Room if anyone's interested.

cheers froce ten...have been watching.

not sure what I think of Broadway week so far

tristan and nancy's foxtrot to "always look on the bright side of life" and she got a 9

I think Hope was the worst, and the best was probably Ricki or JR, even Nancy was good tonight!

I felt really sorry for Hope. The choreography, boots and song all worked against her. It was never going to be a great dance for her, but everything together just made it impossible for her.

I think Len's judging is often highly suspect, but Maks was an ass. It wasn't fair to involve her in the crossfire like that. She probably feels awful now.

Seems that DWTS and SCD are working from exactly the same script this year

I think Maks acted like a jerk tonight - suggesting that Len was too old and ought to quit judging - but to defend his costuming choice, I read on an American board that the outfit Hope wore was very similar to the one the girl wore on whatever Broadway play their song was part of.

That said, he has atrocious taste - and they 'say' that our pros design the outfits for their partners. I'm suspicious of this claim but I'm willing to believe they have some input, and if so, Maks should NOT have input.

We're having a bizarre season. The dancer with the most talent by far, Kristin, a coordinated and pretty girl in her 20s, was booted in Week 3. The Italian girl booted the week before her was better than most - and at least young, beautiful and fit. Week 4 we lost Chynna Phillips who at least was tolerable to look at and had some grace and moderate ability.

We're left with a weird assortment of awkwards (5'9" gawky galomphing soccer star Hope Solo, morbidly obese transexual Chaz Bono, obese female bully "salacious news show" host Nancy Grace, a jittery addict or maybe ex-addict David Arquette, it's just pathetic. Then the stiff insecure kid named Rob Kardashian. I personally don't think Ricki Lake is very good but in this group, she's 2nd best, and 90% of that is probably because Derek is a genius at choreography that's exciting and conceals his partners flaws. J.R. is the only one who can remotely dance.

But it's a 'win' for me because of the new pro Tristan MacManus. Other than him, I don't really know why I'm still watching. Worst season ever (except for Tristan and he's stuck with the 51 year-old fat woman who treats him like dirt.)

This series does seem a little mismatched but I'm still enjoying it. The real race is for third place I think, J.R will win with Ricki second.

Maks is right in saying that Hope gets a hard time compared to the others. When the line up was announced I thought she would be the front runner. The judges expectation of her seems to be too high.

Indeed, including Maks doing a "James Jordan".
Give it one more year and the two shows are indistinguishable.

I totally agree with j4Rose.
Pore Hope, what were Maks and the costume department thinking? Hope and Maks were looking like extras from Mad Max doing the hokey cokey. Where was the sexy walk Hope practised so well with the troupe girls?
She was never going to be good at it, but with the deck so stacked against her, it was a mission impossible.
Maks and Len were doing their best to kick Hope further into the dirt. Very unprofessional, even when it was her worst dance. Let's hope she stops 3 penalties in her next match.

This has been building up for weeks and weeks. The judges have their favourites who they will not criticise and then they have others who are constantly getting criticised.

Hope's costume really hindered any attempt at gracefullness.
Poor girl is trying hard.

Has Hope worn fairly flat shoes a couple of times now? I thought she looked good in the group performance but wasn't mentioned by any of the judges. I agree her partner is doing her no favours

I was happy to see Carson again, think he would have been good at Broadway week, still don't like Rob, David was quite jittery (feel a bit uncomfortable watching him), getting to like Nancy a bit more, like Rikki more than I did and still adore JR and those hips of his.

Bottom two. Hope and Chaz. Chaz leaving.

They showed more of the meltdown with Maks and Carrie Ann defending Len. I think the judges looked genuinely shocked at Maks.

Thank goodness Chaz is the one going. The guy simply couldn't dance and yet was receiving favourable comments from the judges week after week and yet they were being really negative to Hope - particularly Len. I think Maks was probably right although maybe he went a bit over the top lol.

I don't know why the judges should look shocked at Maks Lili as they had just gone through the same thing with James on the UK version!! Maybe they need to take a step back and think about what they're saying about the celebrities and start being more constructive instead of just downright rude in a lot of cases.

Not condoning Maks behaviour (although I am a fan) as I do think he was over the top but looking through all the links I do have a few thoughts.

a) I think it was scripted to get viewers (I was halfway there on that thought but since I watched Len's interview on the breakfast show I'm fully convinced of it)

and if it wasn't a set up

b) Maks did have valid points as did James on scd but perhaps these points should have been given to one of the more articulate pro's to express?

c) Carrie - Anne excacebated the situation with her faux indignation as she has on previous occasions(ie with Brandy) it seemed still quite 'jokey' until that point

Glad Chaz went this week as I think he came to the point where he was staying in above more entertaining couples. Still don't like Rob or Nancy and think JR will probably walk it now.

I'm pleased Chaz has gone. He really was moany & IMO wasn't going to improve anymore.

Agree. Can't see why he gets so much 'kudos'. What has he done? Did I miss something?

And yes, the dancing was dreadful. It was a a pity vote, which I never think is complimentary.

JR is my favourite, although Ricki is working her tush off and does often look quite beautiful. She's damn lucky she got genius choreographer Derek.

Also sad/glad that Chaz has gone. Wouldn't have minded Nancy and/or Rob going first.
It's obvious the production team had a little talk with Maks regarding his "It's my show" comment. He backtracked pretty fast last night.
Mr Bergeron was true to form with his "Damn, I was gonna ask him for a raise" line. Had me in stitches for minutes.
I think Maks is right in one respect, some people are praised like they are the new Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers while others can't seem to put a foot right. The judges should be impartial and show less favouritism.
I know it's part of the show to create some controversy, but why are the same people on the receiving end every time?
