I phoned on behalf of a business to ask about getting an extension fitted.

It's about 30 mins work, an hour at a push... you could really take the proverbial and make it last 2 hrs.

I asked how much it would cost.

£190!!!

Apart from everything else, this is the North of Scotland - these are they kind of extortionate prices you'd expect to hear of in the South of England.

Who'd even see the profit from that?

£65 to me isn't cheap, but at the same time I know you wouldn't get it done [professionally] much cheaper.

If you do it...

Their was an extension put in, it's only really for a phone bell, and it has a filter on on, but you can't have the extension and the broadband running.

The extension is 90 foot long.

Do you think with a regular phone cable, the length is an issue?

Hard to tell mate, could be any number of things but cable length certainly wouldn't be the problem.

Thanks. My guess was that it runs along a metal building passing lots of electrical wiring.

In the end, my boss went for my original idea...

Get an handheld [portable] phone. Lol
