Nadine Coyle - Don Julio (Save Me)
Nadine's been working in New York with some producers, and the performed the first of her new material at the weekend
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwPbDdW9_to I love it! It has so much more potential as a single than Insatiable |

It is quite hard to judge because of the quality but I dont think it is very catchy, but it may grow on me after a couple of listens.

she seems to be keeping a low profile, gigging in clubs in the us. maybe she is enjoying the smaller venues and gets a buzz out of the reaction. she has the money she do more of less what she wants. i cant see her setting the charts alight either side of the atlantic to be honest. not at the rate she is going about her business. however, if she is happy and continuing with her music then who cares?
at some point she will hopefully remember she is part of a successful girl group in the uk and service will be resumed?! fingers crossed!

Honestly, not a big fan. The song is so...ordinary. Millions of R&B flavoured pop songs sound exactly like that. If I had listened only to the audio, would I have known who the singer was? Doubtful.
That's why I like Nicola so very much. Sure, she is clearly not everyone's cup of tea. But she is trying something different by mixing in different layers of sound and truly personal lyrics. And if I heard a recording by Nicola, without knowing it is her, I'm fairly certain I could recognize her. I don't know if Nadina has written this song herself, but whether she has or not, the lyrics were the same 'ol same 'ol. Compare that to Nicola's Sticks+Stones which clearly has very personal lyrics. But I'm hopeful. The quality of the recording of Don Julio is bad, so maybe they'll polish it up in a studio and add a world of sounds to it. Now I listened to it a second time so that I wouldn't just rely on the first impression. Didn't do anything more for me. But Nadine's voice is still great, though. |

I'm not sure about this one. I'd need to hear a higher quality for a proper judgement but from what I could gather it doesn't grab me initially as much of a hit.
Yet again it's a shame because I really like Nadine, she has a brilliant voice, it just needs the right material to showcase it in all its glory. |
